This beauty came screaming sharp - it just glides thru typing paper without resistance and shaves arm hair cleanly. The knife is light and balances about an inch in front of the guard. Aesthetically, it' s rustically themed as can be seen in the pictures and the fit and finish is a bit rough. There are scratches on both sides of the guard and you can see epoxy where the blade enters the guard and where the guard buts up against the handle. It came quite greasy and with a great deal of dirt/soot? on the scored flats of the blade. The damascus pattern is very visible and varied from side to side of the blade. The clip was completely unsharpened but about a half hour on a sanding belt and diamond stones put a fighting edge on. The micarta handle is smooth but ergonomic. The sheath is decent leather with a very tight fit. With the clip sharpened and its light weight, size and balance this is one hell of a fighting bowie.Blade - 10 1/8 inch from tip to guard (so the blade is 3/8 inches short of the description) and the spine is 1/4 inch Handle - 5 1/2 inches from front of guard to butt.

The media could not be loaded. This knife is a slice above the rest. It's huge, rugged, solid and Razer blade sharp! The sheath has a stunning design, true leather, excellent fit and superb stitching. This is a knife that can slash the competition as are most blades from this seller. I'm more than satisfied because I know this blade will impress anyone that sees it and it'll last a long while. It's definitely not a decorative blade. You can literally use this and not have to worry about it dulling out or getting damaged!

Knife looks similar to what's in the picture with slight variances in the pattern. The leather sheath is good quality and has that nice, "new leather" smell to it. Don't really care for the panther imprint but overall the sheath is nice. Blade comes oiled and directions for care. So overall the knife is well balanced, and razor sharp. Has a very good edge and point to it. Plan on taking it outdoors to test it out more. Hopefully no issues but so far I'm very happy with the purchase

If the knife came in just the box I would probably give 5 stars. Had to take a star away for the cheesy Sheth. If someone handed me this knife in that Sheth I would instantly think it was a cheap knockoff of something! The knife itself is good quality and came very sharp. It looks close to what is pictured but thats to be expected. It's actually good thar it doesn't look exactly the same. That means that it is actually hand forged and not just stamped and mass produced! The knife will stay in the box and the Sheth will go to the bottom of the closet never to be seen again!

The moment you take the knife of the box, you will be astonished by the incredible craftsmanship that has gone into create such a masterpiece. Testing the initial sharpness out of box, it passes the paper test with flying colors. I have honestly not seen a knife that feels powerful, looks powerful, and is powerful all at the same time. Kudos to Vetus! 100% recommended product!

Very hard steel. There's no rolls or nicks, and the blade is razor sharp. Clearly handmade and the Damascus pattern is beautiful.P.S. To the person who didn't even purchase and left a 1 star review: San mai is a Japanese forging technique that uses a harder steel core surrounded by softer steel to prevent against withering. Damascus is made by combining different steels in a special welding process to create a pattern. So yes, a blade can be both San Mai and Damascus. A quick search and you'll see there are Companies that sell San Mai Damascus blocks for forging.

Been wanting this one for awhile. It’s beyond expectations. What a masterpiece. Everything a real knife collector or even a real hunter would want in a piece of good iron. Get it,….you won’t be disappointed.
