Love the unique texture and it's soy free
At first I bought this chocolate because it's one of the few brands I could find that didn't contain soy (I'm allergic). I fell in love!! I love the texture; it's got a little bit of grit to it which makes it so much better than typical smooth chocolate. The flavor is delicious. I didn't realize at first that it's designed to melt into hot chocolate, but when I tried it that's delicious too. The only problem is it's getting very difficult to find; Whole Foods used to carry this brand but has stopped. I also love the chocolate bars; I can't find those anywhere now, even online. Please Amazon, put the full line of Taza products back in Whole Foods stores!!!

Salted Almond Dark Chocolate..enough said. :)
I purchased this with 3 other flavors. The more detailed review/description is in the review with the flavor that has coffee in it.I love the packaging of this. Just peel off the sticky label on the back, take a piece and you can re-wrap it and re-stick the label. I also love the taste. Salted chocolates are such a rage right now so I was excited to get this. I bought four and this was the first one I opened. Salted Dark Chocolate with Almonds..how can that be wrong in ANY way.:) The texture is a bit different than other chocolates I am used to. It comes with two round discs of chocolate and it is "scored" for easing breaking. There are not big almonds in it, but you still know that they were involved. :)It was fun trying something brand new to me. I look forward to other products that you have.

Tasty
A little grainy in texture upon the first crunch but still melts the way I want when I eat it

Unadulterated chocolate the way it was meant to be eaten - I'm hooked!
I live in Boston and went on the Taza Chocolate tour in Somerville, MA. After finding out more about their incredible business practices and passion to create authentic mexicano chocolate, I was sealed as a lifelong customer when sampling all of their flavors. It is unlike any other chocolate I have ever had and I'm a HUGE dark chocolate lover. I love that there are no dairy ingredients (I'm vegan) and that this style is more 'pure' and unadulterated than the super smooth, rubbery chocolate out there. Knowing that Taza performs direct trade with their small farmers around the world and that they pay above average to give their farmers good wages and have good relationships is important to me. I'm all for supporting the organic farmer directly and not the middle man.Out of all of the flavors, I think the salted almond is the least strong - that being said it is one of my top favorites and I've been having bits of Taza chocolate near everyday for a few weeks now. Due to the minimal processing of grinding the cocoa beans between hand-carved granite disks there is a gritty texture. I really enjoy this as I try to keep my diet free of refined foods but others I've given this to are put off by the texture and intensity of the flavors. This is not a subtle chocolate treat. I think of this chocolate as more of a healthful and medicinal food - I know it sounds weird but this is some amazing stuff and I don't feel guilty eating it.If you're in Boston, I HIGHLY recommend taking the tour and trying all of their chocolates. Enjoy!
