Karaoke Music Video]]> .com Thomas the tank engine and his railway friends learn all about how rumors spread and the importance of getting all the facts before leaping to judgment in Blue Mountain Mystery. When Sir Topham Hatt sends Thomas off to help the narrow-gauge engines at Blue Mountain Quarry after Paxton is injured by an unstable bridge, Thomas discovers a little green engine hiding in the tunnels. Some sleuthing reveals that green engine Luke is hiding because he once did something very bad; but what that something is remains a mystery. Thomas decides to find out exactly what happened, but his detective work yields some unintended consequences that just might get Luke thrown off of Sodor Island. This Thomas & Friends movie acquaints young viewers with the concept of standard and narrow-gauge tracks and engines and introduces new friends Owen the traction engine, who pulls heavy loads up the quarry incline; little green engine Luke; Merrick the sleepy crane; and track car Winston, who makes odd sounds and has a long way to go before becoming a really useful member of the railway. Fantastic Film, Bad Discs
Blue Mountain Mystery revolves around Luke, a small green narrow gauge engine. He's afraid he'll be sent away if anyone finds out what he did. Through investigation and hard work, Thomas befriends Luke and learns what happened. After hearing Luke's story, Thomas sets off to find the yellow engine who fell off the boat.BMM is a major improvement from the poorly constructed "Day of the Diesels" and the awful "Misty Island Rescue". The dialogue is no longer forced and there is not exaggeration on words. The film also has some hidden easter eggs on the biggest of Thomas fans will notice. Such are: The Marklin Engine (in scrap form) at the Dieselworks, The "Rolling Eyes" effect, etc. It's also the first time the Narrow Gauge engines are seen in FULL CGI!The discs, on the other hand, are a mystery themselves. This is the first Thomas disc to be released in its native 23.976 frame rate. This allows for better quality overall throughout the film. But the main problem is the audio and the length. The film runs (on the disc) for 1:03:58. It's supposed to be 1:01:27. Somewhere along the line, the film was slowed down and can be noticed in certain audio sequences. The 5.1 DTS Mix is another problem. There is a lot of phasing and "channel-switching". This can be heard during the WORKING TOGETHER song in the beginning of the film. Listen carefully to the sound effects as well. It's painful to listen to a mix THIS bad.Overall, with all technical aspects aside, BMM is a must own for any Thomas fan. The kids, and even the adults, will enjoy this sweet tale of the little green engine.

A Kiddo and Mommy Favorite
We LOVE this movie. Like many others, my almost-three-year-old asks for this weekly! We snuggle up on the couch and talk about all the characters and the story. It is a great opportunity to talk about decision-making, forgiveness, listening, and being a good friend. Sad it is not free on Prime, but we bought it since it is such a huge part of our routine. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Thomas movie, issue with DVD.
We bought this DVD for our two boys as a Christmas present. They are 3 1/2 and 21 months old, and they love watching anything Thomas. It was a cold rainy Christmas day this year, so this movie provided a welcome relief (aside from all of their Christmas presents). We've since watched it just about every day during vacation. Since we watch the movies with the kids, my husband and I actually enjoy watching it too :) It's a great story line. Luke, one of the narrow gauge trains, thinks it's his fault he pushed a train into the sea, but it was an accident. Thomas has to help Luke figure this out, and after a big misunderstanding all is put right in a wonderful way. My boys enjoy watching how the quarry works with all the trains and gears, it's especially fascinating for little ones.Where I take issue is with the DVD. I despise DVDs that force commercials on you. This DVD starts out playing one with all the Blue Mountain Mystery toys, a preview (of a totally unrelated and more mature animated movie), and a vacation getaway. I hate that I can't just skip it, I have to fast forward while my son is telling me, "Wait! Wait!" because he wasn't to see the commercials. My boys never watch regular TV so they never see commercials, I don't appreciate that this is forced on us, and I have to be ready to quickly fast forward to get to the main menu to start the actual movie. Horrible design.Otherwise, movie is great!

Great Thomas Movie!
My 3 and 4 year old boys LOVE Thomas and this movie did not disappoint. Great lessons learned about loyalty, honest friendship, truth and the importance of finding out the whole truth before you accuse anyone. I'm a 37 year old stay at home dad and I enjoyed watching it with my sons too. It is just over an hour long which is the right length for my boys. It kept their interest and they talked about it after the movie was done. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show with your little ones!
