I play the saxophone but decided to try the bass guitar. I did not want to spend a lot of money because I was not sure and have never played a bass guitar. But this is an excellent starter bass guitar with amp. One of my friends who is a professional bass guitarist tried it and he said he can pull off a gig with it. The original bag is thin and not adequate so you will need to purchase a better bag. I also purchased a next strap and 1/4 cable. I am very happy right now and without regret.

Great little case to carry a bass around with. However, after only a few days of semi-consistent use, the bag has slightly ripped at the base of the neck, where there is a void created by a wing on my bass. I'm not chucking my own guitar around or anything, mind you; it's just sitting in the car during drives, and shouldn't be ripping, especially in that spot. Sort of disappointed, because otherwise this thing is a really nice value.
