The flavor is mind blowing!
This is an astonishingly good product. I bought it back in Jun of 2024, and haven't used the entire bottle yet, but is by far the best vinegar I have ever purchased. I primarily use it to season Italian cold-cut sandwiches. This vinegar/brand was recommended to me by John C. Dvorak of the No Agenda Show podcast. John C. Dvorak is a culinary critic and tech expert (wrote for many PC magazines over the years). I'm an American, and unfamiliar with seasoned vinegars, but John C. Dvorak is something of an expert on wines, and often remarks on his aspirations to write a book on vinegar one day. When he recommended this vinegar, I knew I had to try it. Without a doubt the rich depth of flavor is due to the selection of specific herbs, a keen knowledge of fermentation and careful control of the process. Most Americans just by plain 'Vinegar' for most culinary needs. If they have any sense at all, they buy red wine vinegar (yes I know that this is a rice vinegar). Now that my eyes have been opened, by your magnificent product, I will never consider plain white vinegar again, and look forward to sampling some other varieties. The cost of this product really isn't all that important, its flavor makes it a five star selection unlike any other. You will not be disappointed.

''Spicy German Cousin I Didn't Know I Needed''
I love this vinegar, and I find that a little goes a long way; however, I just reordered it again not long ago. The Wiener Schnitzel is among one of the most favorite culinary traditions in my family and is always next to the traditional German Potato Salad. This extraordinary salad requires a small amount of vinegar, and the Altmeister Essig provides the right balance of flavor unique to this dish. The combination of wine vinegar and aromatic spices truly sets it apart from other vinegars.Altmeister Essig is a traditional German vinegar made with wine vinegar and various spices, including cloves, allspice, and mustard seeds. It has a rich, complex flavor, tastes wine-spicy, and is ideal for classic salads. Nonetheless, it is perfect for marinating meat, adding to potato salad specialty, salad dressings, sauces, etc. I use this flavorful vinegar in no particular order in salad dressings, lentil formulae, soups, particularly bean soup, stews, bread dough, and pretty much anywhere else that requires a touch of lemon. I named this vinegar Spicy Insolence! My research prompted me to discover one of many exciting and less-known facts about this specific vinegar; among several honors, it received the International Taste & Quality Institute award in 2018. It is fascinating to know that such a remarkable vinegar is being recognized and celebrated by experts in the field and culinary enthusiasts. If you're a vinegar lover like me, I highly recommend trying Altmeister Essig. Its Spicy Insolence lives up to its name, providing that perfect balance of boldness and attitude in every drop. Whether you're cooking up traditional German fare or experimenting with new recipes, Altmeister Essig is sure to elevate your culinary experience.

The Best
I am so glad I can obtain this product from Amazon. I have been using the vinegar as long as I can remember, even my grandmother in Germany used it. It was the go-to product in her household, as well as in my mother's. I am using it for every German-style meal such as German potato salad, salad dressing, spicing lentil soup, sauerbraten...I imagine it is a little expensive in comparison to American vinegar, but the flavor is unmatched.

I use it for making German potato salad. Everybody loves the salad and asks me what the ingredients are that make it extra. I tell them it is this seasoned vinegar.
