I have not written a product review in years. I didn't receive anything free in exchange and was not asked to write this. I simply hope that other Amazon customers read this and consider a product that could possibly drastically improve the quality of their lives. I suffer from terrible Seasonal Affective Disorder that I didn't know I had until I moved to the PNW a few years ago. Since then, lightbox therapy, vitamin D supplements and Wellbutrin XL have become part of my daily routine every winter. They all help and I notice a difference, but there were still days I suffered terribly. So I did some research on SAD and found the one potential treatment I hadn't added to my regimen: SAM-e. I figured, what the heck, why not invest the $39.99 if there's any chance it could help make me feel better? The result being, taken as directed (for the past couple weeks), within few days I was back to my summer self and haven't felt any signs of serious depression since. Along with this claim, I would like to add that I'm studying for a career in mental health and come from a family of mental health professionals. I am aware of the dangers of a "placebo effect" and don't believe I'm kidding myself as to how stellar this product is. I've been a more productive worker, a better friend, a better student and better able to enjoy activities in the winter and be my true self on dates. For all of those skeptical of supplements, consider the possibility that there's no reason to be more skeptical of non-prescription products than established anti-depressant medications. They're all just compounds that function in different ways in our brains/bodies. Will this product help every person the way it's helped me? Maybe or maybe not. But if you suffer from SAD the way I do, I hope you at least try this once and see if it'll also help y'all regain the quality of life you deserve. Finally, my sincere gratitude to the manufacturer of this supplement!

Ordered for degeneration of joints. Have not completed bottle but feel that there is less swelling in joints in question.

First of all, I have taken Sam-e for several years at 200mg to 400mg a day. Most of the time I just took 200mg right after breakfast in AM. No problem at all. Then I purchased this 500mg Pure Sam-e. Again, I have lots of energy and great mood.The only thing is that I found this is a bit of a stronger dosage and it may take me a while to get used to it. I just take this in the AM, not at night. Personally this works kind of like a stimulant in that I am so full of energy.I cannot say how it may work for you, but for me, after taking it, I feel great and in a good mood.

I work for NOW Foods and we tested this product in November 2024 internally and at Eurofins Labs, a world leader in vitamin testing. Results by HPLC were shared with Amazon and FDA because results were so poor. aSquared failed our same test done in 2020 on SAM-e, as well as 10 other supplement tests in the past seven years. This lot # 15672 claims 400mg SAM-e per capsule, but tested to contain only 68 or 72mg per capsule. This brands product should be recalled and refunds given.

Oh my this stuff is good! I’ve been struggling with mood problems for months. My temper is short, and I’m angry a lot. I’ve also been depressed, and none of this is normal for me. After some research, I found this stuff, and I’m so glad I did! The old me is back! I didn’t realize how bad I felt until I started taking this. I’m so happy again, I haven’t gotten angry over anything (in fact, I feel so patient and rational!), and I even have more energy! I’m taking one capsule in the morning and one in the evening, and I’ve been taking it for 10 days now. I felt better starting on day 1. By the end of day 2, I felt renewed!I don’t write a lot of reviews, but if it helped me this much, I want others to try it too.

I appreciate the value of this product and not having to put blister paks (other brands packaging) in the landfill. However, there is a definite "fishy" smell and accompanying taste that I've had to deal with. If you are sensitive to that type of thing, this may not be the choice for you.

Good Quality

I took this because of all the hype I read about it on the internet. I can see a difference in over-all Lupus pain, and osteoarthritis pain.I didn't notice how much it helped my mood, until I ran out. Whoa! It lifts my mood and increased my patience. Google doses for best personal results.
