My husband loves this shaving set. The stand is sturdy and works well with the brush and his razor. The brush is very good quality - very thick, very soft, no loss of bristles, holds a lot of shaving foam/water, cleans easily and dries well. The cup seems good quality and is a good size. My husband didn't like using the soap bar so he stopped using it, and started using the cup and brush with regular shaving foam from a can. Then the abandoned soap bar started attracting ants like crazy! I still don't know what to make of that hahaGreat quality product for a very good price - very pleased with our purchase!

This kit is one of the best compared to other wet shave kits in this price range.The brush is absolutely wonderful for exfoliating your skin and creating a rich lather with medium to soft soaps and creams. The wood finish feels high quality and nice to hold while the badger hair has little to no wet animal sent that I can detect. The brush does shed a good bit in the beginning but the more you use it the less it sheds. If you are looking for something with a stiffer spin then look into boar hair brushes.The bowl is made of brushed aluminum, it did come with surface blemishes like it was rubbed against something on the conveyor belt when it was being package but that didn't bother me, and it works well with creating small lathers but sufficient lathers for a good 3 pass shave.The stand is alright, you can tuck the bowl in it with the brush hanging over head but then your razor will not fit so either have you bowl with the brush or your brush with your razor. Other then that there isn't much else to it.The soap is very good, a little bit on the dry and and would probably make a better lather with a boar hair brush but I can make a good lather with William mug and if you can lather williams mug, you can lather anything.

This is my first shave brush to use and sobfar i like it. I gave 4 stars because the bristles are a little stiff and do lose 1 or 2 each time I use the brush. Unsure how normal this is. I really enjoy the soap that came with, much better lather than other soap I have. Leaves face smooth and clean.

The brush is very nice. Handsome hardwood handle and the bristles are a good balance of coarseness. Didn’t have any problem with shedding bristles. I noticed just a single hair come off of it the first time I used it and that’s it. No strange smell to it other than actually smelling like badger fur.The bowl is stainless and just the right size if you’re used to using a mug.The stand is OK. It holds the brush and your DE razor, I just wish it were a bit taller and wider so you can neatly place the bowl under the brush. Not because the brush drips; it won’t drip if you shake it off. I just think it would look nicer. You can set the brush up so that it’s hanging by the handle where the bristles meet and then put the bowl under it, but it crowds the razor and even then, the bowl will be partially hanging off the edge.The soap lathers up nicely, but there’s no scent whatsoever. I ended up melting it down to mix in some cologne so I could smell something other than wet badger while I shave.Overall, it’s worth the money.

Soap and soap bowl are good quality. The stand is not as universal as it could be. The stand is too short for long handle razors. The cut out in the stand is not designed to suspend any razor in a balanced fashion. They could've spent one more dime to make this stand a little taller and a little horizontally deeper to accept a razor at a 90° angle from the orientation it uses meow. As is, the stand will support your razor hanging at a slight angle. A steeper angle is recommended to drain water off the razor head. It appears that the intention is to hang a razor straight up and down and that does not work. It would be better if it was designed to hang a razor and angle to drain water off the blade.

I’m not a shaving snob and didn’t want to invest 100’s in the tools. I purchased this item solely for the brush and the cup. I thought it was a good value for the money based on the reviews. I wasn’t planning to even use the soap that comes with it, as I have my own preferred cream.I have been using it for a little over a week now and am thoroughly happy with this set up. The quality of this product is absolutely worth every penny. And the soap, which I wasn’t going to use, is great too. It shaves well, and I don’t think I've every had such a close shave, and my face has ever been so soft afterwards.Very happy with this product.
