Smells Kinda Weird BUT So Robust in Flavor!
The media could not be loaded. *For the complete review - see my video.Organic is best. Always best. It smells better, taste better, and is much more nutritional for your body. This is why I choose organic whenever possible. This brand does not disappoint on any of the above. It is beyond perfect! To preserve the quality of this product, because all perishables do degrade over time, be sure to add a food safe desiccant, because this product does not include one inside the pouch. This will prevent your spice from retaining moisture and getting clumpy. It will also keep it fresher longer. If you plan to keep this product in this bag, I will let you know that the ziplock part worked perfectly. Many products in these types of bags do not close good if at all. This is a good quality ziplocking bag with zero issues. This company also packaged the product in a secondary bag inside the main ziplock bag for extra freshness. 👍For me, personally, this is what I do with most of my spices. I add them to a pint sized mason jar, add a desiccant, and use one of those plastic parmesan cheese lids. You know, the ones that pop up on both side; one side with holes and other side fully open. A lot of people don't realize that they screw on mason jars perfectly (half pint, pint, and quart). This is a great way to keep larger spices all uniform and looking nice. Plus, it's easier to sprinkle spices than using a spoon to get them out of a bag. Should you need to use a measuring spoon, the fully open side of the parmesan cheese lid will allow you to do that without screwing off the lid.As far as price, I have found this Gotu Kola Powder both cheaper and more expensive than this brand. So, I guess this falls somewhere in the middle. I have other items from this company and really trust their products, so I would hands-down choose this brand. So, overall, I am very pleased with this company's packaging, product, and price.5 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Quality Product at a Competitive Price
Gotu Kola is good for brain function, anxiety, stress, depression, good circulation, and for skin issues, among other things. It's a staple herb in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, and in the traditional medicine of Indonesia. I've used it off and on for over 10 years as a brain tonic. Famed herbalist Rosemary Gladstar has great recipes incorporating gotu kola, including a brain tonic tincture (available online or in her fabulous books), "zoom" energy balls that incorporate herbal powders, a "good memory" herbal tea blend, etc. I'm even brewing a memory tonic vinegar. The powder can be tinctured (in alcohol) to preserve it, or added to vinegars, but I'm preferring to use it in recipes like smoothies right now. Jai Ho recommends it for smoothies, lattes, tea, coffee, and other recipes. This is good quality USDA organic gotu kola with a fresh smell and flavor. I tried a pinch plain, and then used servings in my morning smoothies. The flavor is not strong in smoothies. I pair it with gingko biloba powder as the two herbs work synergistically. Rosemary, sage and peppermint work well with gotu kola, also, if one wanted to add this powder to a brewed tea. The package itself is a bag within a bag, as you see in other photos. I do wish that the inner bag had been a ziploc-type bag, but it was just a sealed bag. I will open the package carefully, and I just cut a corner off the inside bag so far to dip my tsp. in.USDA, OneCert, and India certified organic. Vegan certified as well. Product of India, distributed by the Jai Ho company in New Jersey. Expiration date on my package is December 2024, and creation was February 2022. At 1/4 tsp. per serving, this inexpensive bag has 227 servings. Like many herbs, it's good to take them for awhile and then take a break. I like doing 5 days on, two days off, or 3 weeks on, one week off. For longer treatment, 6 weeks on, two weeks off. This gives the body time to adjust to the healing and also offers the digestive system a break. Herbalists generally recommend this about many herbs, since the liver has to process everything we put in our mouth. This bag should last you a good year, so it's a great deal. Highly recommended!

Excellent quality for the price
Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) has been used in India for millennia. To those of us who are herbalists, this is known as a food herb, which means that you can eat it as you would with any food and no contraindications. This one pound package of organic Gotu Kola powder from Jai-Ho, is of impressive quality. It comes in a ziploc pouch and is heat sealed inside another bag inside the zippered pouch. One pound almost completely fills one of the half-gallon jars that I use as an herbalist. This herb promotes longevity and helps promote cognitive function as we age. It is also reputed to be good for healthy hair and healthy connective tissue as well. I personally add Gotu Kola to smoothies, to soups, and also infuse it in coconut oil that I cook with to give the added benefits of the herb. This herb is mostly water soluable so you can tincture it if you wish, or again, infuse it in oils.Having worked in the natural products industry, particularly with herbs, I do know what this herb costs wholesale. Jai Ho's powered Gotu Kola is organic and it costs about half of what I pay for one pound with my established wholesale vendors. So far I am VERY pleased!

Measurements aren't listed on this package and doesn't taste great
This is a big bag of Gotu Kola Powder. It seems authentic to me. The cons are that it doesn't do much for me in any way. There are no instructions as far as how much to take and the company doesn't know either. It also doesn't have a great taste which is what Gotu Kola is like. They can improve this by listing crystal clear instructions of how much to take.
