These grill tiles are great! Contrary to other reviewers problems with broken tiles in shipment, I had no such problem. The tiles arrives carefully packed in boxes that had foam slots so the tiles did not touch each other and didn't touch the cardboard box. Very nice packing arrangement. No way they could be damaged without there being very obvious damage to the box.My old Emberglow stainless grill has been in service for better than 15 years but the ceramic bricks that buffered the grate from the burners had long since disintegrated. I replaced the original bricks with lava rocks but was never again satisfied with the way the heat distributed until I ordered and installed these tiles. Now my grill works better than when it was new, and I couldn't be happier. I cannot believe how evenly these distribute the heat.I would recommend these tiles to anyone that has a need to replace their original rocks or tiles.

I've been through metal baffles, lava rocks, ceramic pyramids and thin ceramic tiles. These tiles are the best flame defuser/heat sink I've ever grilled over. They hold heat so well that after the initial heating and searing I can turn the burners to low and cook a full grill of trimmed pork steaks with no flair ups at all. They take a little longer to heat up but that's to be expected. I can't wait to roast a turkey over them.

These tiles appear robust and distribute heat well. So far they have not cracked or broken.

I bought these for my friend, as a present to replace the ceramic tiles in his current grill. These were far less expensive that the authentic replacement tiles - and now I know why. Some of the tiles were broken in the box. They are thinner than I would expect, and as such, some have already begun to break down. But, they lasted him around a year. I would say a good expectancy for the price that I paid.These tiles were great for an emergency replacement, at an affordable price (reason why I wouldn't give them two stars).These tiles were too fragile and broke easily (reason why I wouldn't give them four stars).

2 major complaints but not tested yet after installing. 1) The box does not contain details on spacing. The title says it covers 270 in^2 but a 5 in x 2 in brick = 10 in^2 and there are definitely not 27 bricks in the box. 2) The bricks do not split without breaking and no details how to break the bricks at the grooved seams. I used a masonry chisel to split a 4 section down to a 3 and 1 section. All the 1 section pieces broke near the center of the new brick. Hopefully they work better as heat diffusers than the installation.

So far seems like a great product. Easy to install and trim so as to fit your surface area. I feel like it distributes the heat evenly.
