Dont get these for better light, get these for better sleep
These can be used as traditional nightlights but because of good color options, can do so much more. Click '' for full info...LEDsLED are naturally blue. Other colors are produced by adding phosphers that convert light into color. The result is better color but with less lumens. So the further from blue an LED, the less light you get at the same power. As all these models are half a watt, the lower in the scale you go, the brighter you get. Lined up least to most light, this looks roughly like so:redyellowwhitegreenblueReviews complaining of to bright may be bluer, reviews complaining of to dim may be redder. So why not just go with blue...THEORYAll but a few forms of life depend on the sun. For energy, for heat, for light. But light does more than help us to see. Plants grow in the direction of sunlight. Newly hatched sea turtles move toward sunlight reflecting off the moon and waves. In humans, light regulates sleep. Melatonin (a key sleep hormone) is suppressed by morning-afternoon daylight. And is then released when the sun goes down, when the color of light turns warm.Warm light such as from candles, mimics the sleep signal of the setting sun and keeps our natural rhythm. But what happens when we bring artificial light into our world? Blue light from energy efficient sources (including LEDs and electronic screens) mimics the wake signal of the early sun. Exposed evening after evening, blue and white light can keep us awake hours past our natural bedtimes.COLOROur brains are wired to wake us up with exposure to the color of sunlight (about 6000k). Anything at or adjacent to this color will distrupt our sleep patterns, be it from our TV, our phone, our computer, our floresent tubes, or our little white nightlight in the bathroom. To get tired and prevent distroying your tired after you’ve gone to bed, avoid blue or white light after sundown.Want to see what this feels like, install FLUX on your mac/pc and use it as the only light source in your house for several days. Set it to 3000k, adjust to it for a few hours, then set it to 6000k all at once. That jaring feeling is your brain thinking its morning already. Devices in your house are probably doing this to you every night but its gradual so you can’t tell.BUYING GUIDEBlue should be avoided at all costs. The only colors you want are red and yellow. Red for areas between your pillow and the toilet, yellow everywhere else. White should installed only in areas that require accurate color at 2 in the morning and located far from the bathroom/bedroom. Yellow and (especially) red are not as bright so the light will not go as far so you will need more of them. But how much did you spend on your mattress for good sleep? Even 2-4 per room is still under $100 for most houses. And at half a watt each, even 20 of these is only 10w, lighting up the whole house for far less than a single tradition bulb in a single room. This company appears to have several models, this being the latest. Other models have complaints of glair. This newer version has frosted glass, reducing glare. And the prongs are non-polorized, so you can aim the tops away from you, reducing glare even further. Get one (box) of each color (R+Y) to start with and try them both. Your limited to outlet locations but some outlets are above counters, some are behind furniture, and some perfectly laid out along hallways. For maximum light, spread the light across floors, walls, and other surfaces.

The red ones have a nice relaxing glow
They work well in spite of being fairly cheap. The light sensor isn't too sensitive, either. It stays on once the room is dark enough. I got the red ones because the dim "red" LED bulb I was using in a lamp was way too bright, and apparently it was a blue or green LED doped with red fluorescent dye that faded to orange. These red LED night lights however do use true red LEDs, and are dim enough to not keep me awake at night. The light pattern looks nice, too.

Great low profile LED night light
I wanted a red light nightlight for our lower level bathroom. This product arrived well packaged, ready to use, with two in the box. Just plug it in and voila! It's a dark day here with not much daylight coming into the ground level, north facing window, so the light sensor kept the light on (first photo). When I turned the room light on, the nightlight instantly turned off (second photo). With sunnier weather, the light would be off during the day. I put the other light in a brighter room with south facing windows and it didn't turn on. Nice low profile. Good value for the money. Hoping these last a long time as advertised.

Red nightlights good for retaining night vision
I like these very much. I bought them for a trip because every hotel we go to we end up keeping the bathroom light on so we don't crash into furniture if we have to get up at night. I always feel this is wasteful and wish I'd remembered to buy a nightlight for our trip. Well, no more.I purchased the red night lights because red light interferes less with your nighttime vision (it has to do with visual purple, or rhodopsin, if you're interested in the science of vision). And, I was going to MARS -- the Maine Astronomy Retreat -- and I wanted red lights for our cabin to help keep our nighttime vision at its peak. There are two nightlights in the box, so I was able to put one in our cabin's bathroom and the other out in the living area. They provided ample light for walking around and weren't so bright as to interfere with sleep. The acrylic front of the nightlight is the type of material that can scratch easily, so I was a bit disappointed that they arrived in a box without any kind of protective film or wrapping. After I took them out and tried them at home, I wrapped a paper towel around them before putting them back in their box for our trip. The light comes out mostly at the edges. It's hard to explain, but if you've seen those acrylic signs where the edges are neon, you'll understand. This produces an interesting effect and spreads the light out without it shining directly in your eyes.I had no problem with the nightlights at all. I like them enough that I'm considering the other colors for my house for decorative nightlight purposes. They're not the cheapest nightlights available, but you do get two of them in the box, and because they're LEDs they should last for quite awhile.

Works as intended.
I had previously Ordered Greenic Oval LED Night Light Lamp 4 Pack with Light Sensor Amber August 14, 2018, I am satisfied with their performance, and they are still lighting up at night.I wanted to purchase another set, but they were out of stock.I instead chose the Greenic Square Amber night lights 2 pack. When I plugged one in, it seemed to light up a larger area than the older ones. It could be because they are newer, or it could be that the squares have a larger surface area than the ovals or different wattage of LED.Regardless, they light up enough to make your way at night and are not harsh on the eyes.
