Clear and concise answers about Type II Diabetes.
This book explains Type II Diabetes in a clear and concise way. Before reading it I had started to make partial changes recommended by Dr. Poothullil. The results has been significantly lower HA1c, lipid panel numbers and blood pressure, as well weight loss (more than 13% of my starting weight). Also off 2 of 4 medications. I am looking forward to implementing further changes suggested in this book to fully restore my health. I hope doctors will read this book and take it seriously. I have suggested it to several doctors. Thank you Dr. Poothullil for making relieving my anxiety and providing answers and motivation.

There is a lot of wisdom in this book.
This book is easy to read, concise, and informative. The author comes across as very caring and kind. I recommend this book for anyone with diabetes or pre-diabetes wanting to help themselves to better health. There is a lot of wisdom in this book. We over consume grains and grain products. I am a child of the 60s and remember the food pyramid with 6 to 12 servings of grains recommended by the government. I also remember the high-carb diets pushed at us in the 1980s when I was a young woman. The book raises questions about insulin resistance as a cause for type 2 diabetes, and proposes a new theory, having to do with cells using fatty acids for energy instead of glucose. It may be worthwhile, but the author wrongly asserts that all diabetics have high triglyceride levels (mine are very low).Taking the author's advice, I eliminated grains from my diet. This was mildly beneficial for my health, and certainly did not hurt me. The most surprising benefit was a significant reduction in my LDL "bad" cholesterol. I also lost 13 pounds without trying. My A1C dropped from 6.3 to 6.0 after a couple of months. I am not overweight and my doctor tells me I need to keep my weight up, preferably by adding muscle to my frame.Bottom line: this book is interesting, well written, and has ideas worth considering. It is not the miracle cure I was hoping for, but I am grateful to the author for his insights, and want to say "thank you."

Helpful Read
This book is great. It helped me to realize what am I eating and to get my diabetes under control. So far I have cut out certain foods from my diet and my A1C has been great. I recommend this book to get a deeper understanding or a different perspective about diabetes.

BEST ADVICE ON THIS SUBJECT!
This is the best advice I have ever read on this subject. If you deal with Type 2 diabetes, you will quickly connect with the clarification here and relate to the obvious misinformation we are all exposed to. Most of all, I believe this level of understanding gives me the determination needed to make the clear and needed healthier choices, along with the hope and path way to finally feeling well again.

A Novel Approach: Not a Vehicle to Sell you other products
What I liked the most about this book is that it is NOT a Vehicle to sell you other products from this author.Relying on info from this book helped to reduce my A1C from 6.9% (clinical definition of diabetes) to 5.4% (normal range) in six months without any medications.I monitor my blood glucose religiously every morning and sometimes in the afternoon or evening. As such I can see the consequences of what I ate the day before the blood glucose test.I highly recommend this book.
