This is our family’s third enclosure by this brand. We bought one after adopting our first cat three years ago. Then we got one for my son who has a cat in his apartment. And now we just adopted two kittens so they have one in their designated room. They are sturdy, nice looking, and easy to put together. Doors swing open nicely and stay closed with a magnet in the top center corners. Accessing the litter box inside is easy. It’s roomy, but some extra-large trays might not fit so be sure to measure the trays before buying. Cleaning is convenient. I keep a handheld vacuum close by for litter inside the enclosure that gets kicked out of the tray or for the little bit that they track out by the side doorway. I wipe it with wet paper towel and unscented soap periodically. Let it dry well or the floor might eventually begin to break down. It’s just painted particle board, after all. After assembling it, I kept the doors off and left it empty in the cat’s room for a few days for them to adjust. They explored it going in and out and on top. Then I put their tray in with no doors for 2-3 days, adding the doors one at a time. So after a week, they were completely comfortable using it. I understand that some people have the thoughts that littler boxes should be wide open, but none of our cats seem to have any issue using this. Plus most of the excess litter (as well as the smell) stays in the enclosure. I highly recommend this enclosure.

My cat is 10 years old. She is the lovable, always hugging, laying beside me, even gives kisses!! Then along came the puppy. The puppy is 4 months old now, follows and chases the cat all the time. Decided to get a private toilet for the cat. I was disappointed when the package came, because there wasn't a litter box included, even though it's description says "TRIXIE Pet Products Wooden Pet House X-Large and Litter Box". I ordered a litter box from Amazon and all is well. I just hated spending the extra money. The pet house was very easy to assemble, all parts were included. I installed a movement light so when she entered the pet house she could see. The cabinet is well built and should last a long time. The only thing I can't find is a bed that can go on top. Can't find 29"X17", may have to make one. Would recommend this item to anyone who wants a nice piece of furniture that is actually a litter box!!

This is one of those "you get what you pay for" scenarios. It's clearly particle board with a veneer and cheap hardware. (For example, the doors aren't on real hinges -- just top and bottom metal dowel pins.) Also, the instructions are IKEA style, but not very clear. I had to put the railings on twice because the instructions didn't indicate which side of the top they went on. However, for $120, it's a bargain. It hides the litter box well and looks ok in its assembled form. If you want a high-quality piece of furniture, this isn't for you, but if you want something functional and effective (and you don't mind taking an hour or two to build it), this is great.My only hesitation about buying it again would be a design choice. The access doors are on the front, which means to clean the litter box, I have to get on my knees in front of the cabinet and awkwardly stick the scoop between the box and the room, holding it from the side. I think it would be much easier if the top of the cabinet lifted up, so I could scoop from above.

WARNING - I made modifications to this item and this isn’t what it looks like as assembled by the company’s intended drawings.My cat’s litter box is in my office. Since the pandemic started and I work from home more often, the dust has not been kind to my sinuses so a friend gave me the idea of this box. BUT - I’m old. And my cat is old. I didn’t want to have to pull the litter box in and out (it’s heavy at my age) and older cats aren’t a fan of change, so I made some modifications.First - because my cat does not like change I started with just the base and 3 sides and let him walk into the box any way he wanted for a while. After a few days when he was used to where it was located, I added the top. I’ve added one door since then, but will not add the other door for a few more days.Second - I don’t want to have to pull the litter box in and out of this piece of furniture so I put the lid on hinges (4 is over kill, but they are cheap) and installed an arm to hold the lid up in place. Because I have an XL litter pan, I did not use the insert panel inside. Instead I used that piece to help create the arm to hold the lid up and make it look more aesthetic.The piece of furniture is genius and I love it. I love that I can hide Bubba’s litter box, keep the dust down AND it looks pretty good when closed, even with my modifications.If the manufacturer reads this, I hope you consider a future edition that has hinges to lift the lid. It allows me to clean the litter box without having to lift it.

So, it’s not real wood. Which makes it porous for spill and we’ll call it bad aiming by my tabby. I will keep buying from this company merely because they were more than on top of and responsive to my need for a replacement piece. I’m impressed and appreciate this so much in a world where good service seems lost sometimes.

Was hard to put together, you need at least two people. Is sturdy enough to hold some light things on top including my cat. Has really trapped most of the litter and my cat is a kicker! Would recommend wiping the inside every week super well even if your cat doesn’t miss the box inside or it’ll start to smell. Color is really nice, matches photos.
