Much better than paying a service person to replace.
We have a central air conditioner which was manufactured in 1984. Worked well up until a week ago when I noticed the circuit breaker was tripped. Reset the circuit breaker, The blower fan for the outside AC unit would come on and five seconds later the breaker tripped again. Like most people, I immediately had visions of a $300.00 service call to have a heating company tell me that it was time to replace my AC or worse, visions of a $5,000 check to replace the unit.I disconnected the compressor run capacitor, my meter showed it bad. Looked on Amazon for a part, found this one which matched my old one electrically and physically. Took all of ten minutes to install. Reset the circuit breaker and enjoyed hearing the compressor kick in and feeling the cool air coming from the register.
