Good carb for the money.
I put this on my boat after I had issues with the engine not revving past 3k rpm. I knew it was a fuel issue and just didn’t want to mess with rebuilding the carb or paying OEM price for a new carb. I made the necessary tuning adjustments according to the owners manual before I installed it and now my boat runs excellent. Fits exactly the same way the OEM carb does.

Works great.
You will need to adjust the float and maybe the accelerator pump linkage. Stuff you would need to do anyway. Utube it.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
The media could not be loaded. Purchased to replace an 807764A carb on a 4.3l 6 cylinder on a 1989 Sea Ray 185.The good: This is a direct copy of the OEM carb with the correct venturi, power valve, and the right jet assortment. It comes with jet 165 installed which is perfect for sea level. At high altitude you need jet 155 (provided) and if you are running lean at sea level you need jet 180 (provided). Once I changed jets for 5000+ altitude (155) and adjusted the carb it run great! The bad: While changing jets, I discovered the carb out of the box is not usable. It is not setup correctly (or at all). You will have to set the float level and drop. (See photos: Out of the box the level was 4mm, needs to be 14mm; the drop was 39mm, needs to be 27mm). The needle valve is the spring-loaded style - refer to the service manual if you are having flooding problems. I have always had good luck with the spring style. A solid needle plunger is not provided so in the remote chance you need one then you will need to procure it.The ugly: The choke housing was loose and needed to be disassembled and tightened (see video). This is easy to do but should not come out of the box like this. Also, the choke spring is not properly tensioned so you cannot depend on the "2 lean clockwise" setting. The best way to calibrate the choke is with the throttle open to loosen the three screws, turn it clockwise until it opens, then rotate it counterclockwise until it just closes. Make sure it moves freely. Mike's carburetor has great youtube videos on these adjustments.Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, but you may be disappointed if you are expecting a plug and play solution. These adjustments are not hard if you are mechanically inclined.
