We bought this book for a Paw Patrol loving three year old and got the results we expected. For the first few days he wanted to read it a lot. The story follows the key formulaic elements of the TV show, so any child that has fallen for the Pup's charms will instantly connect with the book. The story telling is basic, so it's probably not the book you want to read to expand your child's vocabulary. After a couple of read through's it also ceases to be engaging for the adult...but for a child who loves seeing how Ryder and his team of pup's are going to save the day this time, this book serves it's purpose.

This book links into the Paw Patrol TV series and films which the children may already know or will certainly want to after reading.It is big, bright, and colourful which will grab a younger child’s attention. There are lots of detail for the child to look at, spot and talk about, while it is read.This size of the book and graphics lends itself to group or class story time.Older children will begin to recognise words and eventually grow confident enough to read it themselves.The text is detailed, there are about 10 mins of uninterrupted reading. There is quite a bit of longer and more complicated vocabulary to extend the children’s knowledge. This can be extended further by questions and observations, either on a one-to-one or in a group situation.Throughout, the storyline presents problems to be solved by the characters, I really liked one situation which exposed Rocky’s fear and then showed him conquering it. An example for a shy, unconfident child.My wife (a teaching assistant) and I read the book to review and then had the desire to seek out and watch some of the TV series, fun! Bring on, grandchildren!

Ordered this for a little fan of Paw Patrol but have to admit I love these books too. Sea Patrol to the Rescue is a ludicrous tale which is lots of fun, ultimately the true test of a good book for little ones. It doesn’t preach, although there are feel-good messages of encouragement like: “I know you can do this [Rocky] …if you don’t feel up to it now, you can do it later.”Children will love Mr Prickly the pineapple and the baby octopus but the ginormous mama octopus is rather scary as she sinks poor Cap’n Turbot’s boat. Never fear though as Paw Patrol come to the rescue, all are saved, the boat is re-floated and mama octopus even gets a pair of glasses so she doesn’t lose her baby again! Oh, and of course Rocky overcomes his reluctance to get wet to help save the day!

Who doesn't love Paw Patrol. This is a very good book for young children. Published by Harper Collins this 32 page books is colourful and certainly attractive to a young child. It is a nice size for a child to handle, 250mm x 250mm x 3mm. The book is about PAW Patrol in a sea adventure story with one brave Pup overcoming his fear of the water to earn his lifeguard badge and save the day.All the usual characters are in the story so the child will identify Zuma, Rubble, Marshall and Skye as they take to the sea to rescue Captain Turbot's sunken boat. A nice little story that my grandson has already read through several times.A good book at a nice price.

This is another in the Paw Patrol series of books, as with the others it’s well illustrated and brightly coloured. I won’t give too much away but it involves the Paw Patrol joining a lifeguard rescue team. They have to help with rescues from a short-sighted sea monster octopus, as you would expect they overcome all difficulties admirably and also help by fashioning the sea monster a pair of glasses. This will be a hit with all existing Paw Patrol fans, and it’ll entertain those who have yet to discover their adventures.
