Received as a gift from my wish list. It has never worked properly. Balance is good when the lid is on but it loosens and falls off all too soon. Drawing up the ink into the inverter is messy. I have to pour my ink from it's bottle into a shorter necked container so the pen nib can reach the ink. Once that is accomplished it takes a frustratingly long time to get it started making marks. Once the pen's ink flow gets going well and if you pause and start writing again, you must repeat the process of shaking it to get it going again. You can't consistently write. What a crappy experience.

I recently received a copy of this product. I found the bamboo case and the pen itself quite attractive.I have marked it down in my rating, because the converter in my sample had a poor fit around the nib portion, and would suck air when attempting to draw up ink. I was able to make it work with difficulty and some mess, but I have some much less expensive Chinese origin fountain pens that don't have this issue.It is too bad, I would have otherwise given it a higher rating. I will still be able to use it at my desk.Edit: customer service immediately contacted me and sent me a replacement at no charge that works well. The original issue may have been the result of variations in the natural bamboo the pens are made from. The customer service of this company is first class and I have changed my rating to 5 stars.
