Great quality just understand what you are buying
This is really good quality Puerh Cha Gao (or Puerh Resin), you just have to understand what you are buying. Puerh resin is not a modern instant tea product so it will take some time to dissolve. So if you are looking to quickly brew a large mug of hot tea, look into instant puerh powder products that are also sold on Amazon. I'm sure if you really wanted to you could crush the tea resin chunk into smaller pieces or grind it into a powder to get it to dissolve faster.Personally I do not think the slower dissolving time is a bad thing as it means that it is possible to get numerous cups of tea from a single piece. I love to brew it a small tea pitcher (glass measuring cup will also do), a smaller Asian style teacup and a small amount of water. This will allow you to enjoy a few cups of a strong but very smooth puerh tea.

Really, really good (not fishy)
Maybe the people mentioning a fishy taste got a different batch - pu erh CAN have a slightly "fishy" fermented umami taste, but the bag I got has none. it's smooth, subtly malty sweet, and not even all that earthy for a pu-erh. It's great. It's also fairly strong. a little nugget in 12oz of water is actually quite strong. I think maybe 16oz of water is more ideal.I've also tried mixing it with a few other things - mix a 12oz steeped piece with lemonade, it's the world's coolest arnold palmer!

Dissolves very slowly, ends up bitter.
I'm a big fan of pu-erh tea. The tea bags from TenRen (sold on Amazon) are pretty good, and the pressed cakes from Jinglong (also from Alazon) are even better - very smooth with a subtle flavor that's never bitter. I wish I could say the same for this item. First I tried it in a mug and it didn't dissolve in the stated 2-5 minutes. Eventually I just drank it and found it weak and somewhat bitter. Then I tried it again and let it sit for several hours, during which time it did in fact dissolve. Then I tasted it and it was very bitter, like too-strong coffee. Adding sugar helped but only a little. I'll stick with what I already know and enjoy.

To frost or not to frost?
I greatly enjoy Pu-erh resins (ripe more than raw), and was happy to find this one available on Amazon. The price for the quantity received is better than average. I was amused by the fact that the listing points out the white frost on higher quality resin, but none of their resin bricks have any white frost on them. Admitting your product is low quality? One brick takes an excessive amount of time to dissolve in 12oz of water (exponentially longer than other Pu-erh resins I've used, with and without the white frost). I can offer no speculations as to why it take so long. The overall flavor is very good. Very strong and bold woody notes, almost like an oolong tea. It's not the best Pu-erh resin I've had, but the price is good enough that I'll likely buy it again when I run out.

Low quality
The positives: It contains caffeine and it didn't make me sick. This earns two stars.Resin pieces were of inconsistent size. Resin dissolves very slowly. Foil frequently sticks to resin and must be filtered out, defeating the point of tea resin. Tea flavor is bland and unpleasant. Low quality tea? Expired product? Imitation tea?Pu Erh is wonderful, and brewing it from leaves is not hard. Since this was the only tea resin I could find on Amazon, I suggest you either buy leaves or go elsewhere in search of resin.

Good Tea in the Go!
It takes a while for the nugget to dissolve, so I use a mortar and pestle to break the nugget into small crumbles. I use the crumbles like instant coffee mix. I also can make smaller amounts of tea vs a larger batch for the whole nugget

More concentrated than you think
One little chunk can make more than 1 gallon of tea. Be careful if you're sensitive to caffeine as the taste and smell won't clue you in on the strength like tea you're probably familiar with does. It's not bitter or sour, and has a subtle smell. Overall, enjoyable.
