Good size for the bay leaf tree going into it. Love these recycled barrels.

Wanted to make a garden ornament out of a water pump we had, by placing on top of a half whiskey barrel. All the ones we looked at were huge. This one was a lot smaller (we bought the smaller of the two), which suited us. It not an original barrel like the big ones, but made from old barrels. We gave ours a make over, by applying Cuprinol wood preservative for extra protection and painting the black bands with Hammerite metal paint, as there were a lot of scuff marks. There are no drainage holes, so we drilled our own. We applied base and side liners and planted up. We are happy with the end result. Taken 1 star off as the barrel came with a sticky label residue mark, where a label had been placed on the metal band and then taken off. What was left was an unsightly mess. Took a lot of rubbing with meths to get it off. It also isn’t quite round, ever so slightly off, but not so you’d notice, unless examining closely. There wasn’t any smell of whiskey with the barrel we received either, not that it matters.

Beautiful planter. Quite heavy but that’s to be expected.Used it to plant my small cherry blossom tree on my balcony.Great value for money and size is perfect for my needs.

Paint peeling off metal, very tiny, very overpriced item.I should of read the size properly. It’s not a half barrel, just a tiny pot. Definitely not worth that price! Held together with staples…. Very disappointed
