Grandson loved it

My son loves it.
Very fun. Works great. Can only tow 2 cars if you have hills on your track.

Great idea, just needs a liitle more power!
Great idea for a wooden railway engine. Works great with the app on my iPhone.Just wish it had more power/pulling ability. Hope Brio comes out with more engines in this line, just add more "oomph" please!

Doesn't connect to app. "App enabled" is taped over on the box.
I could not get the the train to connect to the app. I returned it, got a replacement, and tried again. That one did not connect either. Both boxes I received had the "app-enabled" writing on the box taped over with green tape.Separately the instructions don't say what app to download and I had to look it up online. I think the right app is "BRIO Smart Tech Sound" but honestly no idea since it never worked.

though it certainly isn't his favorite. We have never had a connection problem
So this is a nifty little train. My son gets quite the kick out of it, though it certainly isn't his favorite. We have never had a connection problem, the Bluetooth connects without issue each time. The complaints we would have are this:It isn't very powerful. It can have trouble going up hill, and beyond one car/passenger coach, good luck. It would certainly stall. Same thing with too steep a hill, and, on occasion, uneven tracks. It's also not very good one sharp turns. Wide turns are the best for this, so simple tracks are a must, complicated layouts not so much.

Great Train, Lacks Power to pull multiple cars
We have had this train since October of 2016. It has held up very well, my children play with it regularly, sometimes on the track and sometimes off. The only draw back is the lack of power (even with fresh batteries) Like the other reviewers have stated it has difficulty going up hills and there is no chance of pulling multiple cars. We have had no difficulty with the app. I would recommend this train to others, it is definitely a quality piece that has held up over the time we have owned it.

Good concept, poor execution.
Neat concept. Does not have enough power to go up any hills. Better for just going around a flat track.
