Great gloves for fitness classes.
I take a HIIT (high intensity interval training) boxing class twice a week. There is bag work but no sparring. I had been using the provided gloves and wraps but decided it was more hygienic to get my own so I was looking for inexpensive but quality gloves and warps. Several boxing blogs recommended Venum, and one specifically recommended the Challenger 2.0 for beginners. I use the 14 oz gloves (the "size" is based on your height and weight and how you will be using them not your hand size) because those are considered good for both bag work and sparring should I ever decide to do that.I've now been using these gloves for two weeks in conjunction with the Venum Kontact Gel Glove Wraps Venum "Kontact" Gel Glove Wraps, Black and the combination is great. The gloves are snug but not constricting and they feel very secure with the wraps on underneath them. I am able to close the large velcro closures easily and tightly (using my teeth to close my right hand after my left hand is already gloved).I was a little apprehensive when I first tried them on, though. They seemed very tight and my hands are what I would consider medium. This turned out to just be new product stiffness and they totally softened up during that first class. They are super comfy, much better than the class provided gloves. As for care, I wipe off the entire glove, inside and out, with anti-bacterial wipes after every class then lay them out in the sun with the velcro closures open. I do the same with the wraps I wear. I've read where you can put them in the freezer to destroy any lingering bacteria. I haven't tried that yet, but probably will when they are a few more weeks older.

Nice gloves but the color isn't what shows up on the listing
I decided to try a different brand since all gloves I bought for my lesson program have proven to be of very mediocre quality and seem to run really small now for some reason. I really like these Venum gloves for the cushioning. I got the 14 oz. and I have plenty of room for my hands and wrists. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the color. I got the gold, thinking it would be more of a pewter, which is what shows up on the computer screen. However, the color is very GOLD. Like yellow gold. Other than that, I really like the gloves.

At 5th hard training sesh with these gloves. Good price for the quality.
I fight muay thai every couple of months. I hit bags and pads hard, spar semi hard 5 days a week.Needless to say, my gloves go through beatings. These gloves absorb impacts really well. Even if you are hitting bags super hard, i dont feel a lot of strains on my hands and wrist. Its weighed evenly, which helps maintain good form during rigorous movement. It feels rather light for a 14oz, which is good. Also, you can really open up your palms on these gloves which is a plus for muay thai during clinch or to grab. And the price is awesome. Really good quality gloves and looks for the price.I am at 5th hard training session with these gloves and stitching on the side palm areas are already looking strained. I rotate my gloves though so its not that bad. But just a heads up if you dont have other pairs of gloves to rotate.I feel like there should be more padding in the front for the safety of your sparring partner. The gloves feel hard on the surface. No one on my team is complaining though. The velcro could honestly be made to stick better. It doesnt come off during training but i reckon it will couple months down the lineOverall great gloves, great price. I am just picky and hard on my gloves. Definitely good buy for me.
