Karcher SC3 All-in-One Steam Cleaner, 1900 W, 3.5 Bar

This was a replacement for an older Karcher Steam Cleaner. At first it seemed a little small and we wondered if we had made a mistake. Wow, we certainly hadn't. It is so much more efficient. It heats quickly and cleans superbly. It now has a hard water filter, which we desperately need in the midlands. We used to use vinegar in the tank and the house smelled like a fish and chip shop.Another great improvement is the tank cap. The old one was a screw thread which corroded into the thread and was nearly impossible to unscrew if left for any period of time. The new one is a push and click into place.We love this machine, it is so easy and effective. We also bought their vacuum wiper which combined with the steamer leaves our windows and mirrors unbelievably clean, clear and streak free.

Very simple to use steam cleaner which powers up very quickly and the 1 litre capacity gives plenty of use before needing a refill.Use with a little white vinegar in the water and even old tile grout is much whiter, leaving tiles a lot cleaner.It has a reasonable length hose to enable reaching up to ceiling height and the small nylon brush was so effective at cleaning the grout that I bought another pack of 4.There are a number of tools for using on different surfaces with a cloth which can be used on material - used on a settee to remove tea stains without fuss.Overall, a great device with adequate water capacity and no problem in recommending.

I bought this steam cleaner mainly for cleaning our stone flagged kitchen floor and also for cleaning grease off the Aga. It's ok, but not brilliant. It does clean the floor but doesn't remove stubborn marks..........we have 8 cats and 4 dogs! It will soften grease on top of the Aga, but I still have to use some brute force and a cloth too. I haven't tried it on tiles or the shower screen yet. I bought the SC3 but then had to buy "extras" like the Detail Nozzle and extra floor cloths. The floor cloths probably won't last long on a stone floor either. They are quite difficult to attach to the base and could be designed much better (why not elasticate them like the hand held implement cloths?) The electric lead is long enough but would benefit from being able to return it into the cleaner, like on a vacuum cleaner, for storage. I still haven't managed to work out the light flashes for hard water and soft water..........they don't seem to change however much I press the reset button!

I am not sure about this product. Here are the good things:1. Easy to use to put together2. Refill the water as you go along to avoid delay3. Reliable product and good quality4. Easy to useThe one thing that put me off was:The cloth at the end of the attachment starts to retain water after a short while. Whilst steaming the laminate floor, the water starts to streak behind and then when it dries, it leaves wather marks. I had to keep squeezing the water out which was really annoying. Having done so, it did a really good job.Overall its a good product and does the job.

So it's been my first time buying a steam cleaner, and I can say I'm very pleased with it. For the lazy people out there, this is the product for you! Really does make life easier in cleaning your floor, tiles and many other things. I've had this for more than a month now and its working perfectly fine.Only concern is the cloth for the mop doesn't sit as tight as I would like it to. So the cloth may come out from it's holdings if you pull your mop too quickly, or maybe on a rough surface. Not a huge issue since there are plenty of other cloth's on the market which are elastic and fit perfectly.

I bought this machine full of hope on 20th August. I watched YouTube videos for the instructions of how to use it numerous times but it didn't help the machine was totally useless. In the end over a month ago I agreed with Karcher to send it back for repair. As it was a brand new machine I didn't want it repaired I wanted it replaced but no, they wanted to repair it. They collected it a few days later and about four weeks later it was sent back to me. The engineer's report stated that it needed a new boiler and a new pump! I would have expected Karcher to replace the machine at this point but instead they sent it back to me.Yesterday, I tried it out again and it is no better than before. It leaves the bathroom floor (porcelain tiles) extremely wet and dries streaky! We had to dry it off on hands and knees to get rid of all the streaks. The bathroom is a new one, installed recently so the floor isn't exactly dirty! I also tried it on the kitchen floor and the same thing. Soaking wet and streaky but this time also still dirty.So today I have sent an email asking for my money back - fingers crossed I get it!UPDATE: Karcher offered to repair it again and refused to give my money back or replace the machine. Fortunately Amazon has stepped in and has given me a full refund. So hats off to Amazon and thumbs down to Karcher

I bought a bungalow in August last year and for 4 months no matter how well I cleaned the kitchen,there was always a smell of fish. It was completely untraceable. It drove us mad trying to identify the source, so I decided that a deep steam clean may help. I bought the Karcher steam cleaner as I have a Karcher garden vac and it has been fantastic, and I trusted that the steamer would be of similar quality.. It was easy to assemble and the instructions for use were very clear. I had heard that a lot of steam cleaners drip etc, but this provided a good steady flow of steam which I used on the floor tiling and grout. I was amazed at the results and at last the smell has completely disappeared. It is a fantastic product.
