Great way to learn Hangul!
This is a great book, it has successfully taught me all of the Hangul alphabet, I still need practice, but reviewing the book occasionally and using what I have learnt to read things (even if I don't yet understand what most of it means) is very good practice. If used regularly for a few days or a week then you could easily learn all of the Hangul and as many words as you choose to practice without too much trouble, the way the book is structured and how the lessons work are very clearly explained at the beginning and this is very helpful in learning the characters. I have found learning the Hangul first, and then learning vocabulary etc. to be a very good way of doing things as it means I can begin to learn words on my own and already have the skills to be able to pronounce it with at least some accuracy. I'm so pleased that I read the other reviews and chose to buy this book, as I may have opted for something else, or chosen to start with speech and vocab instead (which I think would have definitely been a mistake).Very good book, great way to learn, very satisfied, it was much easier to use the book and learn the Hangul than I ever thought it could be. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to learn Hangul or Korean in general. I even bought a copy for my kindle as I wanted to practice when I was out without my book, although the book is very travel friendly being a small, thin paperback. So pleased that I read the other reviews and bought this, as I may have opted for something else, or chosen to start with speech and vocab instead (which I think would have definitely been a mistake).

Poorly laid out.
My main gripe is that the examples of Hangeul are printed small are tricky to read where the ink has bled into the paper, which it tends to do. The examples are also forced up to the left hand side of the page leaving acres of white in the middle and on the right. More thought should have gone into the presentation to make it more legible..

Not a bad attempt!!!
It is great if you have a bit of familiarity with the Korean language for example if you watch kdramas, hear the language consistantly, etc. and have been somewhat vigilant of the spoken language ....but a bit difficult for a total beginner to fully understand and get the correct sounds down pack ... additional sources recommended ...but good if your are learning Hangeul...I was able to memorize the alphabet in three days, plus the addition of cursive writing was great....it may also be useful if you want to read konglish if you plan to visit S. korea. .

Want to learn Korean? Learn to read it first with this.
I dont know if you can learn Hangul in one hour but having previously learnt it and forgotten many of the characters, this easily got me back to reading my other Korean learning material in under an hour.

Brilliant
This book was well worth the money. It's split into easy to follow sections with lots of information without being overwhelming. I'm a complete novice and after a quick look through the book when I first received it, I was able to remember a few characters straight away.Definitely a good book.
