Great for making your tofu scramble have an eggy flavour.
Nice product. It came in a branded, sealed bag by Jalpur - one that you might see hanging on a spice rack in an Asian supermarket. Strong sulphuric scent and very finely ground so it also has a very salty taste. You need very little if you are using this as an egg flavour substitute in dishes such as tofu scramble. This should last me a very long time indeed.

Actually gives that "eggy" flavour to my scrambled tofu :-)
This definitely tastes like the real deal and is a valued addition to my spice collection. The bag looked small when it arrived but when I transfered it to a glass jar I realised there was actually quite a lot of it. It is salt after all and you only need a pinch or two to add interest to your dishes. The service was excellent and I will add this seller to my favourites list.

To help replicate eggs
I bought Black Salt as I'd heard a lot of things about it and miss eating eggs. I added it to a chickpea flour batter to make "scrambled eggs" and found it worked quite well. It's more of the sulphuric smell rather than the taste but it's better than nothing at all and the closest product I have come across to help to replicate eggs.I would say use sparingly as the recipe called for a "large pinch" however, this IS salt so my "eggs"turned out a tiny bit overly salty. A little will go a long way so I think it's worth it.

fantastic addition to a vegan diet for the eggy taste without eggs
Fantastic addition to tofu scramble and vegan "egg" mayo for sandwiches :) iv also added it into my mix for making vegan french toast! It has a good eggy flavour you only need a little bit to taste so the little bag lasts ages :)

Great product with a typical eggy flavour
I bought this product to give a vegan egg mayonnaise sandwich filling its proper eggy taste and was not disappointed. Used a little more than the recipe said, but that's because I liked the product. The sulphur in the product gives the egg taste. Not sure if you would want to use it as a table salt but for adding an egg flavour it's great. Would buy again,

Excellent service, great value, great quality
As a vegan, black salt was an ingredient I needed to give an eggy taste without using eggs, it can be expensive. I was very impressed with Jalpur Millers, I chose them because they promised quick delivery and it arrived the following day. The salt is professionally packaged and tastes very good.

This is NOT Kala Namak
This is definitely not Kala Namak. I have been buying Kala Namak salt for years and it has a pungent smell and taste.This salt just tastes like salt and has absolutely no smell.It seems like the seller is trying to get away with selling something which is not what is advertised.It comes in a clear bag with no branding.Not to be trusted as a seller.
