Great find - adds new dimension to cooking
This product gives an acidic flavour. I bought this product to make non- probiotic vegan yoghurt and it worked just fine. I also used it in a batch of vegan mozzarella cheese which did not set. I added two teaspoons to the mozzerella and it became vegan sour cream which was great on potato wedges. I will use the lactic acid instead of lemon juice when making tofu sour cream.I would recommend this product in recipes where you are trying to get an acid flavour, and you want to keep liquids in the mixture to a minimum.

Great as a natural preservative when home baking
This is superb if you have a problem with your bread not keeping well. You may have noticed that sourdough, whether bought or made, keeps far better than commercial yeast raised bread. The reason is that it has lactic acid from the slow fermentation process. If you add about a teaspoon of this product to the flour, right at the start, you will taste no material difference, but the bread will miraculously last much longer. And this is not a chemical preservative which you may feel uneasy about, its something which is found naturally in all sourdough breads, yoghurts etc.Wonderful.

Value for money.
Great product. Probably strangest use of all but I used it for peeling callus from my feet.Safer alternative the harsh baby feet type products. Better than using salysilic acid as well. Just mix with a bit of oil(I used olive oil), apply throughly. Wrap with stretch film and wait overnight. I actually applied 24 hour as it is a pretty safe and mild product. It does peel straight away but a couple weeks time you see the real result and great amount of shedding. You can soak in warm water and scrape several layers.

I give it four stars mainly on the fact that I like the idea of it and that it is vegan ...
Hard to review as I have only used it once. I out some in some cashew cream cheese and I can't say I tasted any sourness, even though I added more and more! Whether I used enough or whether it needs time to work I just don't know. I give it four stars mainly on the fact that I like the idea of it and that it is vegan friendly. However, I think the seller could may be give some instructions, even ideas, recipes, as I am finding it hard to know how to use it. I want to make vegan yogurt, without the probiotic as its too hard to find vegan probiotic, and besides from what I have read many yogurts on the market have little or not live probiotics in them, we can't know can we, so I get my probiotics ffrom other sources but still like yogurt, so I nrought this to get the yogurt taste but can't find any info on how to use in in vegan yogurt making. I also want to use it to make vegan cheese, but again no info on how to use it, recipes or quantities so I weould have like more info. I will continue to try and find info and try it out, and if I manage to use it I may well come back and update my review.UPDATE: I am struggling with this product, there doesn't seen to be much info on how to use it. Just tried making soy yogurt and when I added this to the soy milk it curdled into like cottage cheese, which I am not suprised as this happens when you add acidcity to milk, so how can soy yogurt be made using this!!!!! If I don't get anywhere soon I will be givng it less stars and will give up

Experimenting needed.
It does take a bit of working out in order to concoct sour-tasting milk which is really what I bought it for. I really enjoy sour milk as a refreshing drink and though lactic acid is the natural ingredient in soured milk which gives it the taste, this powder does not really have the same effect in my opinion. It has a rather bitter tang to it and I found out through experience that it does not easily dissolve in cold water. Having said that, although it does very easily dissolve in hot water, it still needs very much "juggling" to try and get a proper "sour milk" taste.I have not yet succeeeded.
