BlagdonMinipond Pond Pump 700 (to Run Fountains for Small Ponds up to 1500 Litre), 3 Fountain Heads, Black

I bought this great little pump for not a lot of money. I knew that Blagdon made good pumps, but this one is exceptional and I am very pleased with my purchase. It is perfect for my small water feature/pond and comes with some great little extras, these include three different heads so you can have 2 different normal fountain types, or a bubble/water bell type fountain. It also comes complete with various riser/extension pipes to get your fountain in the right place with the depth of your pond, and even a ball joint to get just the right angle. It has an hosepipe adapter and a flow regulator, and an excellent run of cable, however you need to provide your own plug or hard wire it into your electricity supply.Our water feature/pond is about 6 foot by 4 foot, and about 2 foot deep at its deepest but shallowing to less than 1 foot, this pump moves the water perfectly, we have tried all three fountain heads and all work very well. We have settled on the Daisy Super Head which is shown on the photograph below, however it's great to have a choice, and even more fun playing about with them. Remember to move your head out of the way when you get someone else to switch it on, especially as on full flow you will be surprised how high the fountain can go, or at least I was!! . The flow regulator is simple in design but very effective, we have had to turn the flow down to get the right height on the fountain, full flow was just a bit too much for what we wanted, again a great extra so you can get your water feature just how you want it, and get a gentle tinkle of water instead of a geyser.The pump also has a small optional pre-filter foam to help stop the blockages which we have fitted, and again it works very well, our pump has been working now for 2 weeks for a few hours constantly each day, I have checked the filter and it definitely stops leaves etc and works very well, and is easy to remove and clean. The impeller housing is easy to remove but locks into place easily, with a reassuring click so you know it has locked in place. It gives excellent access to check that your impeller is ok. The foam sits in the outer frame and it all clips soundly together. It is made from strong robust looking black plastic, and feels sturdy and well made, and is lovely and compact and sits in just your hand, perfect size for a small pond/water feature. It came very well packaged, and delivery was very prompt, a great product, only time will tell how long it lasts but it does have a 3 year guarantee which considering what we paid for it is great. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone, and I would not hesitate in purchasing another Blagdon Pump.

This is perfect for our diy water feature/mini pond comes with a rare 10m of cable so no re-wiring needed for us just needed to add a plug the flow isn’t turned all the way up and it provides the perfect bubbling motion and sound, so the perfect power, the other attachments work great too making a versatile fountain but we just wanted the bubbling. Suction cups stuck great to the bottom of our container which is an old 1945 Belfast sink :) it also is small enough to not look over bearing in the bottom. I wouldn’t class it as a filter but it does have a small filter sponge in the case before the intake and it’s also quiet I can’t hear the pump at all and certainly not over the sound of the water. I have it on a mechanical timer so it goes off over night and come on again first thing.

Whilst the pump itself seems fine and to be well reviewed, the lack of clarity about the product is infuriating. What they didn't tell you is: 1. It is supposed to be hardwired into a mains socket / spur by an electrician, or you have to buy and fit your own plug; 2. If you bury the cable in the ground (to hide it) you really ought to buy some cable conduit (to protect it from e.g. a spade accidentally cutting through it); and 3. There is only a 10m cable on it which is not a lot when you are trying to connect it to a socket in or just outside your house. (So I had to buy extra cable and a waterproof cable connector for £7 which is a major fiddle to attach.) Finally the fountain attachments it comes with are really very basic, so you will probably want to consider feeding it up through a water feature. So overall, this pump - for the uninitiated - leaves a lot to be desired. I've found it very frustrating to be honest - having to buy four extra accessories, separately, just to get the damn thing working. Grr.

Great little pump for small pond. Comes with a long lead which is great as my last pump I had to have an outside extension lead and box too.Powerful fountain, that unfortunately we lost one fountain nozzle straight away to the bottom of the pond when turning on the pump ( luckily we didn’t like that one much anyway 😂). Only downside is you have to but your plug separate. Apart from that, great value for money
