Natco Tamarind Paste Jar 300g

Really easy to use and has the perfect taste. Used in a curry the day it arrived. I'd had to make the same curry the week before without it and there is a difference. The item is liquid and cones in a plastic container with a cap and seal. The first jar I got must have been crushed at some point so the seal had popped. The contents had begun to leak. I requested a return and emailed to ask if I could have a replacement which they were happy to provide. They didnt want the old bottle back. I am unsure the carrier would have accepted it. The customer service was within the accepted time scale and dealt with it well. Therefore top mark's are awarded. The second jar arrived with lots of selotape to stop problems. It worked although a little hard to get into, it wasn't damaged. That you to the sender for thinking of this.

Great product at a very good price. Tesco U.K 's decision to no longer stock tamarind paste has driven me in the great direction of buying a great product at a much better price than they charged, from another source.

This item arrived leaking, but it doesn’t really go off so we decided it was still ok to use. Only bought it for a couple of recipes. Very tangy!

This is a brand we've used in the past for other curry ingredients so we were sure it would be OK. It's smoother, in texture, than other tamarind paste we've used but the flavour, as an ingredient, is great. We'll be getting this one again.

Before this I wasn't sure I actually liked Tamarind having had meals containing it that tasted like they'd added a spoonful of roofing tar to the dish. However finding a recipe that called for it & after reading other reviews I thought I'd give this a go and I'm so glad I did. This Natco Tamarind paste has the bite I identified before but delightfully interwoven with an almost sweet unami. I'll definitely be buying this again & would add more stars to the 5 if I was allowed.
