Have had great results whilst using this
I was advised to get an omega 3 supplement by my sons eye specialist (based on strong anecdotal evidence rather than any proof via medical research) as he WAS then suffering with sight threatening blepharitis. I thought it’d be a load of rubbish tbh but I was shocked by the diagnosis & thought it was something I could do at least, the first thing I grabbed off the supermarket shelf on the way home from the hospital was flax oil as this appeared to have a higher content of the active Omega 3 ingredients out of all products. My son hated the taste & texture so I researched it & found that flax oil tends to go rancid v quickly (keep it in the fridge & use within 6wks of opening, don’t cook with it, take by the spoonful or add to food, including salad, on the plate, it’s really good for you) & capsules won’t go off as the oil is protected by the coating. There was a lot of technical research to wade through on Omega 3 & eventually I plumped for this brand as there’s a high content of goodness (EPA & DHA) & I didn’t see any benefit in paying more.My son also had heated (NOT microwave heated - these can be too hot too easily, get ones that heat in hot water) eye masks & steroid drops & within a month showed a thrilling & rare degree of improvement (according to the specialist) so I’m not arguing about if this works or not but my son will be taking it indefinitely now & I've also put other family members on it.Update: had another check with eye specialist & he’s thrilled with the improvement in my son’s sight; the blepharitis should resolve by itself now over time & the steroid drops have been reduced from 3x pd to as often as we see the need - twice a week at the mo. Obviously, his sight is no longer thought to be at risk & monitoring has gone from monthly to biannually. Also - I was discussing supplements with my older son who’s a mid term pharmacy uni student, he knows a lot already & has been a very handy boon to the family, and I asked him about these & he was enthusiastic & said here was one thing that’s certainly worth taking so I’m on them now for general health - there’s concern I may have MS: research seems to suggest wheat & dairy based diets combined with Northern European low sunlight are prone to MS so fish/omega 3 oils & vitamin D3 are recommended, I’ll let you know how it goes but these capsules have the highest levels of DHA & EPA that I could find & I'm now taking 3 x 3 pd with meals specifically for MS symptoms.Update: have a lot more energy whilst feeling very calm - I never thought of good fats as being a source of energy but it totally makes sense: why would it be so calorific? I’m gently getting back in tune with my body and am slowly getting more active. I also feel more able to deal with others & the normal flow of life (that I’ve been avoiding until now) so am generally more out and about. After a week, I’m now on 2 capsules a day, I take them by midday (your metabolism changes towards evening).Large capsules but they go down easily with waterAlso - just read that they’re beneficial for acne so am putting my zitty 14yr old on them. Have been researching various diets: IBS, anti-inflammatory, MS to name a few & all of them advocate taking omega 3 supplements. The only fats I ingest now are these, flax or hemp seed oil, and extra virgin olive oil as well as those naturally occurring in avocados, nuts, seeds & olives - I recommend as sensible a diet as you can manage, take full responsibility for your healthUpdate: son with blepharitis got the all clear, went from sight threatening to totally clear in 6mthsMy digestive health has improved so much that I’m now largely coping with my symptoms with diet & lifestyle management - I’ve taken lansoprazole twice in the last month because of nausea. I’ve read dozens (over 50) of books on digestive & dietary health issues, out of all of them I recommend reading one of George Jelineks books on diet (his is for MS but it applies, in the main part, to everyone more generally), The Gut Makeover Diet by Hyde (my bible), The Gut Gealth Diet Plan by Bailey (worked with Hyde, another bible), Spent by Lipman (wish I’d had it years ago when I first became ill), The Sweet Poison Quit Plan by Gillespie & Oh Sugar by Bassford (no one needs refined sugar), Why People Don’t Heal & How They Can by Myss (to take responsibility for yourself & what you’re chucking in your gob), How Not To Die by Greger (the book the medics use but don’t expect the rest of us to stick to). I keep going back to all of them as habits are hard to break and hard to establish. I’m mostly vegan minus grains, minus refined sugar, plus fish & lean meats if I fancy it, minus fat except ev olive oil (added to food after cooking). Sometimes I eat rubbish & pay for it because I’m just as human & daft as anyone else. You do what you can when you can.I also take a lot of other supplements as well which I’ll get round to listing eventually & I try to exercise vigorously, lots of sweating, 2-3 times pw - that can be hard - and do yoga etc when I feel like it. I use a bed wedge to relieve reflux and a toiletting stool to avoid straining & constipation, both have really helped. Ladies - soft bras, as in soft cotton fabric without inserts or underwires. Lastly (I can’t believe I do all this either but needs must & the results speak for themselves), a tongue scraper. I read up on all of these things, there are excellent reasons & research behind all of them - tongue scraping is said to aid digestion, in practice I couldn’t say but it’s a quick, easy & cheap part of my routine. You will find that you will automatically drop things you’re not sure of, the initial outlay may be daunting but I didn’t buy everything in one fell swoop, I’d say it’s been over a year or two.I almost bought myself a walking cane in February but next stop after that is a wheelchair. You fight. You educate yourself. You do whatever you can to help yourself. I’ve got a dodgy right leg but I’ve been running again for the past month & I haven’t had a bad do for 5 months now.I can’t promise that this oil works but it’s a permanent part of my diet now, even though now I only take it when I feel like it - a few times per week. I’d happily recommend trying it for yourself though, see what you think, give it a try for a few months.

Important for brain & joint health
High dose (3 capsules) for very high strength EPA 990mg & 660mg DHA. Both very important for joint health & brain health, & the reason I take it. £14.99 for 180 easy to swallow with water capsules, 2 months supply. I bought 2. 3000mg fish oil. Next day delivery with Prime Amazon. Not been using them long enough yet to notice full benefit, but have full confidence in them. Excellent value for what they provide. Highly recommended

Omega 3 - good then not good
Oh dear, I had just written a review and it disappeared coz I pressed something.Today is 31 Jan, 2018.My order arrived on 16 Jan 2018, 15 days ago which is when I started supplementing with omega 3, along with innopure b complex, vit c, biokult probiotics and some things I have already been taking for a while (iron, vit d3). The first few days, I sniffed the omega 3 everyday to check the smell and it was pretty mild and I was impressed that it was not fishy at all. On 16th Jan, I had the best, deepest sleep in as long as I can remember. I felt like I was being healed from the inside. Same thing happened next night.I dramatically improved in terms of my debilitating chronic anxiety and depression and it was like there was this amazing positivity and optimism and lightness, something I had never experienced before, even on antidepressants. I gave two really good interviews and started taking driving lessons again (from my dad). Note, I was also coming off antidepressants and thyroxine at the same time, which I was completely off of on 18 Jan.However, since yesterday, when I had a really stressful interview for a job I really wanted, I have not been able to completely recover and be optimistic up to pre-interview levels. Also, I smelled Omega 3 today and its smelling really strong, so I believe it is going pretty rancid. Are the stress and omega 3 rancidity related - maybe, maybe not. But It has come to my knowledge that omega 3 has to be definitely refrigerated which I had not been doing ( I had been leaving in around 22 deg C room temperature). Note - refrigerate it.So, I am buying another bottle, but from a different brand, as at the back of my mind, I have this suspicion that this stuff is not quality. Even though the first 10 days were amazing. Now, going to buy Aava labs 2000mg Omega 3 because they are saying its pharmaceutical grade, the glass bottle is super protective, and its a 60 day supply which is less likely to go bad before I finish it than this one. Also, refrigerate your omega 3 guys. I'm out.Edit: Returned Aava Labs omega 3 because seal was off. Ordered Nordic oil, seems good for past two days.

A quality product!
I must say that I rarely change products once I find a supplement that fits the needs of myself and my family, however a stock issue from a U.S supplier forced me to look for a new Omega 3 product and this search brought me to Calibre Platinum Omega 3.The high values of EPA and DHA were exactly what we needed per serving. I was happy that the product is manufactured in the UK, so minimal time for the product to be kept out of cold storage whilst being delivered.Great delivery service, super quick. One really impressive thing, away from the product, is their after service. We received an email from Calibre themselves with information regrading their product - this is a great touch and shows how passionate they are about their product, this shows great integrity around their product and gives me confidence that the product will continue in its quality. The capsule size is the standard size, so easy to take, plus no fishy aftertaste. We are very happy with the product and so will stick with Calibre Iron Ore. Great product and will continue to buy!
