Missing one vital song!
I love this - Kylie's Stock Aitken Waterman songs on CD1 and her later, more credible hits on CD2. Only one gripe - why has the No4 ballad 'If You Were With Me NOw' not been included? It's a hundred times better than her 'Celebration' cover, which isn't bad in itself, but that ballad was not just a brilliant song but emotive and gave Kylie a chance to spread her wings vocally. She sounds great on it, and it coudl easily be a hit for her these days - it was first released in 1992 and did well then, but it hasn't dated at all. So why isn't it included on this album?Anyway - supreme songs are: "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", "Where the Wild Roses Grow" (stunning), What Do I Have To Do, Shocked, Step Back In Time, Better The Devil You Know, Spinning Around, Confide In Me, Did It Again. The no 6 hit "Where Is The Feeling" from her deConstruction days is another one that could have been included but isn't. - neither is Manic Street Preachers collaboration 'Some Kind Of Bliss' - neither of these songs would have been out of place in this Greatest Hits package. The songs on there show the range Kylie has encompassed musically - she's never been afraid to try things, even if they don't work out as commercially successful as previous endeavours. She could have just stayed a S/A/W poppet, sweetly singing their songs until she faded from obscurity like the rest of their acts, but instead she had the good sense to leave and make her own way in the music world, recognising that she needed image changes and changes of musical direction along the way. That's why smart and sassy Kylie will always be ten steps ahead of the likes of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke - singers who have stronger voices than Kylie but don't have the nerve to break free as she did.Kylie, you're a legend, and this album shows why that deserves to continue.

Kylie’s first 17 years or so
Having reinvented herself a number of times, Kylie Minogue released this compilation at 36 and since then, at least another best-of CD would be filled with further great songs by this down-under pop goddess. Put out after her prolific period of three good albums of 2000-2003, the first half of this retrospective gave the deserved high profile to the earlier, Stock-Aitken-Waterman produced hits, which still sound as fresh as ever, mostly songs from her 2nd regular album, Enjoy Yourself (1989). Since 1994, she applied herself to a “more serious” pop and won herself recognition from many who originally dismissed her style. Instead, she has brought admirable longevity on the music scene. Always capable of surrounding herself with strong collaborators, she coworked with many greats of her era, including Robbie Williams, Jake Shears and Nick Cave. And although some of her best tracks did not make the cut, all the biggest smashes are here (Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Hand on Your Heart, Slow, In Your Eyes, I Should Be So Lucky, Chocolate, Better the Devil You Know or Love at First Sight).

Fantastic :-)
I’ve been a fan of Kylie’s ever since she started in “Neighbours”.I’ve now been lucky enough to see her three times on New Year’s Eve back in 2006, in 2011 and then her tour in 2014, (when I got some fantastic photos of her).As the years have passed her voice has matured ad she sounds better than ever. :-)Bought this double CD album back in 2010 as I’d been waiting for him to release an album with all my favourites on.The CD booklet has an article on Kylie, includes some lovely still photos and there’s information about the songs as well.I you were to ask me if I’d a favourite I’d have to say yes, it’s the entire double album as I enjoy every song. :-)If you’re a Kylie fan then this double CD album is for you. :-)

Secret Kylie Fan Gets The Goods
Back when Miss Minogue was just starting her pop career you were in one of two camps - you either loved Neighbours and Kylie could do no wrong, or you laughed at anyone who admitted to being a Kylie fan (that was the case in my school anyway). Because of this, I shied away from admitting to secretly liking 'I Should Be So Lucky'. Now that Kylie is back and cool, and I'm away from that school playground environment, I can enjoy all these oldies as well as her new stuff all from one compilation, and the secret Kylie fan in me can come out again!
