No more barbers for me
Bought during lockdown. Wife used it on me and found it easy to use and it gave a decent, even cut.Use it on minimum setting to keep beard tidy. It paid for itself within 2 cuts and I will not bother with the hairdressers again, saving me a fortune. Then again, I have a wife who is happy to do it and is quite good despite not being a hairdresser. Glad I took the advice NOT to buy a rechargeable one as this has a long lead, goes in the shaver socket and cuts very evenly. Yes, it is light and cheap feeling but it does the job well. A total bargain at £22.

Bit of a Bargain
I bought this during the UK's Covid-19 lockdown as my hair was out of control. My wife has cut my hair and it is much improved. She found it very easy to use. For the purchase price of £22.00 it seems a bit of a bargain. Philips have good experience of making men's razors and it shows with this. OK, it's not rechargeable, but for the number of times it will be used that's no problem as inevitably it would be discharged when you need it anyway! As it runs from a 15 volt DC power supply, the cable is lightweight and not a problem in use. It is also long enough. Also, I am much happier to have only 15 volts around my head rather then 240 volts should the clipper decide to fail. Just remember to purchase a shave socket with a 1 amp fuse so you can plug it into a UK 3 pin socket.

Good hair trimmer
This was an impulse buy. It works well enough but you will need a euro plug adapter as this doesn’t come with one. I’m not over keen on the move up and down motion for changing cutting lengths but this is exactly what this does. I find 3 and not 2 as the lowest grade slightly annoying. It feels cheap but performance is good considering. I regularly do a number 3 undercut on the back of my wife’s curly hair and she must be happy, I’ve done it 3 times now! It’s wired but that’s okay for me. Not bad at all

Phillips series 3000 hair trimmer
I needed a new hair clipper as the top branded one I had was useless kept pulling the hairs when using and didnt cut evenly and would take you about 4 times to go round to make sure the hair was cut properly I decided to give this a try some of the reviews on it weren't good but I thought give it a go for the price as I didn't want to pay to much after wasting money on the top branded on. It arrived earlier then promised the packaging was good and everything in the box as promised. My youngest has fine hair but loads of it making it really thick my old clipper wouldn't cut through his hair but this Phillips cut through it like butter. The lead is long enough you will need to purchase a shaver plug as it is not the normal uk standard 3 prong plug. Definitely worth buying even my kids who hate getting their hair cut loved it. It is quick and easy to use and not as loud as my previous clipper.

Gets the job done with a few drawbacks
Gets the job done but 3 down points:1/ the measurements are in mm and not clipper grades which can be confusing to the home user who is used to going to the barbers and asking for a #22/ this needs to be plugged in to be used, doesn't have a battery, which in itself would be fine, however it has a detachable wire for some reason and the connection is incredibly loose and falls out constantly shutting off the appliance. Considering this is a wired product I don't know why they decided on making the wire detachable3/ the adjustable head is really good as you don't have to have multiple clips, however it doesn't lock into place, it's just on a push and slide mechanism meaning it is easy to put your hand in the wrong place and oops now uncle George has a #1

Cheapest and best
Very easy to vary the cutting length. No need for lots of different clip on cutters that get lost. One of the lowest cost but one of the best.

Works well, but the two pin plug is iffy...
I bought this for lockdown haircuts, it works extremely well and my lady friend managed to give me an extremely acceptable haircut despite never having done one before. The only downside is that the continental style two pin plug doesn't sit well in the various shaver adaptors I have around and is prone to falling out. Sadly, one can't cut it off and replace it as it contains the integral transformer. Otherwise a nice product...
