Bought this to replace the handle on my 40 year old pickaxe, somethings are just not built to last! This handle came nice and quick and was easy to fit. very happy with it and is back in use.

Excellent and cheap product. The kind of thing you never think you need until you need it. The pickaxe I inherited from my dad's toolkit some 20-odd years ago came in very useful in the garden until one day recently the handle just plain snapped off. Thought I'd need to replace the whole kit and caboodle, but through Amazon, managed to find a handle without the axe. Quick purchase, and Bob's your uncle (or builder?) - new handle on old pickaxe and the whole thing's as good as new. Easy to fit. Gravity and friction keep the handle connected to the pickaxe and it's like new again.

Very solid, high quality wood, used to make a prop axe for a costume and this is perfect

Difficult to review something like this - in most cases, you will be ordering a pick axe handle because the old handle on your pick has broken ( I was levering out tree roots) , and you wont know how good the new one will be until its been used for a while. But this looks and feels good; grain is tight and running the right way. Shaping/tapering the head to fit my old pick head was straightforward, and gave me a good feel for the quality of the wood. I like the fact it is smooth but unvarnished, which allowed me to treat the handle immediatley with linseed oil. Time will tell, but should be fine.
