I am not a reviewer .. but this base deserves my time. It is wonderful , I have had many umbrellas with self standing ability bases. This is it !!! Not too big , easy setup , I used a bag of sand and then added water, solid. The wheels … work well.Doesn’t move with or without locking, however extremely easy to lock. I’m done … this is what you are looking for.

Very impressed with the stability and maneuverability of these stands.We replaced out flat metal stands for our patio umbrellas with these. The metal stands were not sturdy enough in the wind, or easy to move. These are.I used water for the weight, though I believe you can use sand too for even more stability.Only problem I had was the thread on the shaft. The whole unit is plastic and the thread is difficult to get fully into position when assembling. I used an old pole for leverage to straighten it up. Once fully screwed in place it is fine. The whole thing takes about 10 minutes to assemble. It takes a lot of water though so add at least 5 minutes or more there depending on your water pressure :)

I like the roller style. Easy to move around. However, material is not a durable as I thought it would be. So instead of water, I filled my three stands with play sand. Worked great. I would buy this product again, durability notwithstanding.
