A great all-in-one product
A great all-in-one product. I have Focal Aria 936 and I had doubts whether this has the enought power to drive these loudspeakers. Apparently they can do with ease.Set-up was a breeze. I don't have that much of problem with the app itself but admittedly I use Spotify a lot and you can direclty connect to amp from the Spotify app itself. Some report bluetooth connectivity issues but I doubt I will ever use bluetooth with this device. Set-up was actually a breeze, did not face any issue to connect or reconnect.I also had a chance to compare this unit to a Bluesound Node + Marantz PM8005 combo while buying the speakers. I have to say that the combo sounded more organic and had a better soundstage. However, that combo costs c.1,500GBP vs 400GBP cost of this one. The difference in sound was not that material for me to rethink my purchase. Yet, some point in future I may consider to replace the amp with its pre-amp version (HEOS link) to use it with a more old-school amp.

Complete waste of time and such a disappointment from Denon
Complete waste of time and such a disappointment from Denon...Works well the first time but don't even think of turning it off as it will never work again...They have a policy of NOT replacing faulty items, instead, you have to send it off, they then send it to HOLLAND then you get it back weeks later and in my case damaged. It worked again 1st time then stopped working again... What a complete joke and waste of time. How can they operate with such a poor policy, it not a second-hand car!!!

HEOS Amp HS2 - Not quite as slick as Sonos
Being a long term user of Denon and Marantz kit I was reasonably sure the sound quality would be good.I purchased this to replace a bunch of separates; Sonos connect, Bluetooth dongle, Cyrus power amp etc. I liked the idea of a all in one box with the bonus of HD audio streaming and Bluetooth built in. As with most 'connected' devices the unit powered up and updated it's software. The app is . OK, not great. It does allow you to switch off auto update which addresses previous reviews comments about always updating. My experience with Denon and Marantz apps has left me disappointed to be honestThe Bluetooth feels like a bolt on and is awkward to use. There is a connect button on the back of the case to pair your device. There is no ability to select Bluetooth from the input list in the app. I've ended up reconnecting my Bluetooth dongle to the Line IN so I have more control. Sound quality is good but I did have problems controlling the volume with the app ( the unit ended up at full volume and the app wouldn't turn it down - it ended up clipping and browning out the amp - requiring a power off reset) being fair this could be an issue with the Spotify app integration.Saying this I'm ordering a HEOS link to try out with the Cyrus power amp to test the multi room capabilities.Sonos or HEOS? Neither are perfect...If reliable, ease of use, is important and you don't value HD audio and the built-in Bluetooth buy Sonos kit.If you want HD audio streaming (I tested with 96khz 24bit) and integrated Bluetooth the Denon wins. Both manufacturers need to support the growing Smart Home market with integration to Alexa/Google and home automation systems.Update.. The HS2 Link works well. Denon and Marantz are now offering their latest AV Amps with HEOS integrated as standard with is great. The grouping of devices will only work if the source is being streamed. You cannot play a source that is connected directly to a unit in another room (so Bluetooth to a HEOS cant be played in another room). It's not obvious how you alter the volume in individual rooms once devices are grouped. This can be done using the icon at the right of the volume slider in the app. All grouped devices can then be individually controlled.

It's so easy! I expected to be slightly disappointed by the ...
I have replaced my Mission Cyrus system but kept my Mission 752 Freedom speakers for use with the Denon Heos HS2 Amplifier. I have bought a Terramaster F2-220 NAS drive and stored all of my CD music in FLAC format. I now stream my music using PLEX straight to my Denon Heos HS2 Amplifier using the Heos phone app. It's so easy! I expected to be slightly disappointed by the sound quality, bearing in mind that this is a digital amplifier but not at all. The Heos is very capable of driving my speakers and still manages to retain my low volume warmth and bass. Still waiting for a Heos app for pc/windows which is the only thing missing at the moment. I love it!

Difficult to use and unreliable
Difficult to use and unreliable. What is there to like. When it worked it was fine but it continually wanted to update the software and after about 12 months of little use the red light kept flashing and it failed to work.I could have got it repaired but i want a simple system that I can just switch on and listen to the music. This was way too complicated for my taste so I replaced with an amplifier with USB and other inputs so i could just plug my ipod in and listen.
