...that you have too much disposable income when you’re buying this. It’s a piece of thin walled hollow plastic for a ridiculous price. That said it’s Fender official and looks great. I’ve got it in the tug bar position...never going to utilise it but as I said, it looks great. Delivered a day early too, by the Royal Mail - so one in the eye for cheap labour. All round win.

Does the job perfectly. A couple of drill holes, a crosshead screwdriver, and in minutes my P-bass was more playable.

It is what it is, an over priced piece of hollow plastic with a couple of screws, made by Fender so it MUST surely be worth the price!!You can rest assured this Fender part will respect the 'tone' of your instrument, perhaps even enhance it? :)

Useful aid to an alternative bass playing technique.

I love this soooo much.got it for my mustang bass, holds my picks when I am not playing with a pick, and it's good for holding when you are playing with your fingers.I did think that it was all solid plastic, but it's hollow on the inside.but great product. will buy one for another bass soon.

Not much I can say about a small bit of plastic, other then it was what I wanted and it done the job satisfactory. Good fast delivery and packaging.

Very good product very comfortable thumb rest

Got this thumb rest as I’m a new player just learning bass and I have not learnt the floating thumb technique.Normally I would use the P pickup as a thumb anchor however due to upgrading to EMG Geezer Butler PJ pickups these are lower output compared to the stock pickups and as such I need to raise them to almost the maximum the screws will allow, however because of this using the P pickup as a thumb anchor felt a little wobbly and I was worried I may damage the pickup so decided on a thumb rest.I had a look about for thumb rests and settled on this one only because it had next day prime delivery, otherwise there are cheaper options available for the same thing or better materials for the same price. However this is a genuine Fender item and you are paying for the name.Fitting was easy a simple 2 screws that are self tappers, you can drill but I did the lazy easy option and just used the screws to make the holes.The screws it came with were silver coloured however I had some spare black bridge screws which were the same size so I used them instead to match the all black hardware of my bass.The thumb rest is a cheap hollow piece of plastic with a couple of moulded screw posts inside it. Other reviewers stated the old skool ones used to be solid but I have no experience of those, however as it is hollow I noticed there is a slight bow in between the screw posts and after the screws which I actually quite like as it’s the right shape for my thumb to find and settle into.Once fitted this is a solid thumb rest and really allows me to dig in so does the job perfectly.My only minor annoyance purely from an aesthetic point of view is that it is shiny black plastic and I would have preferred matte black plastic to match the pickups, but this is really only a minor nitpick and I don’t think there are any matte black ones available from other manufacturers anyway.This is a 3 star review not because of the item itself but because there are cheaper options out there or better material ones such as brass for the same price. You really are paying for the brand name at this point.

I added this to my Squier Vintage Modified SS Jaguar bass since resting my thumb on the P pickup hurt my thumb. I used the existing screw hole and only used one hole to install the thumb rest. Worked great! The thumb rest makes it a lot more comfortable to play. It reminds me of the one I had on my Fender Musicmaster Bass back in '78! Good stuff!

Lo mejor de lo mejor.

Looks exactly like it was on the original guitar, comes with a template for P or Jazz bass. Be careful, instructions say use a 5/32 drill for a pilot hole. Which would have been way too big for the screws supplied. Happy with this purchase. As a beginner the thumb test forces me to play off a consistent zone in the strings.

Estampillé "Fender", mais que c'est cher !!! plus de 8 euros pour un petit bout de plastique qui ne vaut tout au plus quelques centimes ...Autrement, du plus bel effet une fois installé.
