Must have.
I wish it was a walker but it's the next best thing...I still love and adore the 84mm. I use this little knife on the farm to cut string from hay and the little saw to cut over hanging branches...it's still brilliant for work life even with the rounded blade. Thank you victorinox.

Ideal first penknife
My grandson is delighted with this knife. He is very practical and loves to work in wood.

Bought for nephew
Bought for my 12 year old nephew who is in the scouts. Despite the rounded blade he still managed to cut himself! Build quality is as good as the adult versions (and just as sharp!)

Not a toy
This fully functional Victorinox SAK is of the usual high standard. It is aimed a young people starting in the outdoors. It's main safety feature is a blunt rounded end to the blade, but the blade edge and the saw are as sharp as the adult versions.Best used under supervision.

Excellent quality knife
My little boy (age 8) got this in his stocking from Santa, alongside the whittling book. He is delighted with it and has already made a little alligator out of a stick, with fairly minimal help. The knife is well sharp enough to use on pretty tough wood, he has sawn little branches off a tree easily with the saw and even attempted to use the screwdriver. This is by no means a toy, and obviously children need to be supervised with it, but it is a great concept with the rounded blade making it feel a safe introduction to using a knife with wood. I don’t feel he would need any more tools in it, just having the three keeps it simple and user friendly. I’m very impressed!

Not as safe as it may appear!
Bought this for my 8 year old. It's a great knife, and the rounded blade gives some comfort regarding safety, however, the saw blade is extremely sharp and quite fiddly to get out and had a tendency to snap back quickly. That said, it's well made, looks good and does the job.

Great little knife
Bought as a gift for sensible 7 year old to be supervised with, also wearing cutting gloves. The little boy loves the gift, he wears it on the pocket chain, and into his pocket. The knife is quickly brought out to cut the baler twine on hay bales, cut an apple, and of course to saw off twigs to then peel and whittle. I now have a jar full of wooden narlbinding /darning needles, and a crochet hook in the making! The knife is VERY SHARP, and the little saw is EVEN MORE DANGEROUS, the jagged edge is VERY SHARP........BUT with the safety gloves and an adult supervision it is as safe as most out of door pastimes. (eg.... breaking bones coming off bike, scooter or trampoline.) The little knife blade folds in, and has a blunt rounded top end. It also has a bottle opener and this doubles as a screwdriver........in a hidden slot comes a tiny pair of tweezers too get splinters out. I am the grandma, brought up 'doing outdoor skills for over 60 years,I bought the knife for 7 year old grandson , he enjoys learning these skills, The Childs father does not agree, and has fallen out with me.
