Having never owned a proper dress making mannequin before I wanted to get a proper adjustable one. The delivery was quick and assembly easy, the measurements on the adjustment dials is a little difficult to understand - they don't actually seem to bear any relevance to the dimensions of the mannequin, but by just using a tape measure I was able to adjust it to the right size. It's sturdy and my cats haven't managed to pull it over yet, and i have already made my first garment. Very pleased with the product

This dress form is with many adjustments and capable of being set up for the majority of girls, however, we all know that there are exceptions. One of my adult grandchildren measures 36" x 26" x 36. Making a bodice for her, using just the dress form, proves problematical in that it cannot be adapted to her bust apex. It will come as no surprise to any seamstress that the answer is to fit the dress form with a bra and pad it to size. It is thus that the proportioning of the dress form's bodice becomes usable.Taping over the gaps is advisable, these being necessary to accommodate the various plate movements of the dress form. It is worth taking a great deal of care when setting up the dress form, for it must be remembered we are trying to create a given shape, and the adjustments are wholly interactive, each likely to create errors in one's former adjustments.Reading the instructions is a must, for some adjustments do not present themselves readily and may easily be overlooked, yet are necessary.If I were asked to improve this dress form, it would be to introduce arm-stumps and adjustable shoulder height, as few of us are perfectly symmetrical.I couldn't do without it now, as it takes out a lot of guesswork, and when the garment is placed on the person, one finds that the alterations are small and easily accomplished, cutting down the time. Overall, yes, there are better ones on the market and you get what you pay for. In my case, both the price and this dress form were found to be a sensible compromise. For those of us who are strapped for cash, this is an ideal middle-of-the-road aid to dressmaking. Clearly, it is a necessity that is truly functional and will prove of great value.

The dressmaking dummy arrived fast and in good conditons. Actually it was the first item I ordered from Amazon and arrived right on time. I got it as a present for my mom who is a professional and she loved it. The fact that is adjustable makes it even easier to use.

The item is good quality, but the description isn't accurate. It says that the waist goes down to 25", but it's actually 26" so I'm having to return it

This dummy has changed my (sewing) life! It's not particularly sturdy and you have to be careful when moving it around not to pull it clean off its stand, but the adjustability makes it worth its weight in gold. I can alter the settings to match either me, my daughter or my mother, and it means no more stopping to strip off and try things on.It's worth noting that the surface is pretty thin so you can't stick pins directly into it like a pincushion, which I had thought you could but this may be the case for all tailor's dummies, I haven't used one before so I have nothing to compare with.

Bought for my wife and her dressmaking , was very pleased with it initially but now 11 months later with it standing lightly dressed the plastic base has buckled and broken so one of the 4 legs won’t lock into position and therefore it won’t stand upright…a dress makers mannequin that can only lay on the floor is of no use…can’t find a way to contact the supplier to claim under the professed 2 yr warranty …

It is so much easier to alter clothes on a model than on yourself. I am very happy with this item.
