Great price and good product
Ordered 20l pack for a project and pleasantly surprised how fast it arrived and how good quality. Not too dusty so quick rinse sorted that issue and almost no broken pebbles. Great product!

Good quality leca
mostly uniform sized clay pebbles, minimal dust compared to other brands. Seems to wick water well, you can see the moisture on the surface, so plants roots will be able to drink. So much cleaner than soil or compost. And less likely to house fungus or viruses so better plant longevity

Great purchase
Using these clay pebbles is straightforward. Simply fill your pot or hydroponic system with the pebbles, plant your seeds or seedlings, and water as needed. The pebbles' porous nature ensures optimal moisture retention and drainage. To reuse, clean the pebbles by rinsing off any debris. For sterilisation, soak them in a diluted bleach solution, then rinse thoroughly before reuse. Clay pebbles, also known as hydroton or expanded clay, are lightweight, porous growing media used in gardening and hydroponics. These small, round pebbles provide excellent aeration and moisture retention for plant roots. Their versatility makes them suitable for various cultivation methods, from hydroponic systems to traditional soil applications, offering a natural pH buffer for optimal plant growth and nutrient absorption. Floating clay pebbles for hydroponic growing are ideal for planting orchid, succulent, vegetables, fruits, indoor gardening system, aquarium substrate, hydroponics supplies. Whilst using these please bare in mind you always have to have water at the bottom of the container so they have a supply and absorb as needed for your plants. Be also advised the plant will start growing the water roots which will be drawn by the moisture and these will frow a lot faster than soil roots. Plant will be safe to move into soil if you wish to do so at later date.

Plant saver
Great value for money, good size and lightweight. Took cuttings and placed in a jar with some soaked clay balls. They hold water well and my cuttings grew a healthy root system. I would highly recommend them

Don't recommend as a top layer over soil
Although these are highly rated by other customers to use as a top layer for soil dressing, which is why I purchased them, I have found them problematic. The reason I purchased was to try and control the population of fungus gnats on my houseplants, so I bought for use as 'top dressing' (covering the top layer of soil with the balls). For this purpose, the product worked really well, and the number of fungus gnats has declined. Some plants haven't had any problems, but several otherwise healthy plants did not adjust to this change and suffered. I have had several die. I bought a moisture meter, as using these clay balls made it harder for me to determine if the plant needed watering or not than it used to - so I know I was not over/under-watering, but I have had a few plants suffer with root rot and die after using these. All those plants were otherwise healthy. I have also found that other houseplants have needed a lot more care and attention than they did previously. All in all, I think they are more hassle than they are worth, have upset the balance of my soil, and I have suspected they encouraged diseases in some of my plants. I wouldn't recommend using as top dressing of soil for Alocasia species, or rubber plant - as these were the plants that seemed most upset. In particular my rubber plant was a lovely and healthy plant (one of my favourites :( ), no signs of infestation or disease, I used these and it just started to die, and nothing brought it back to life. It just slowly continued to die, regardless of anything I tried. Same with an Alocasia which was in a different room on a different floor. Fine until I added these balls. As a 'plant parent', you get a sense when something has upset your plants, and these upset many of my plants.

Excellent LECA and customer services
This is probably the 6th time I have bought LECA from UK Grow, and I really love their product.I had the opportunity to try other leca, but the water-wicking process was not as good. The pebbles either dried too fast or too slow. The UK Grow ones keep moist enough to feed the plant without causing any root problems. My plants thrive in it.And the pebbles also look nice, which is a plus, given that all my pots are transparent. :)I usually don't leave reviews, but the customer support was fantastic this time, and I think they deserve public appreciation. I had a minor issue with the delivery - the courier's fault - and the staff replied fast and helped more than I expected.
