Tar on Car - How to remove
Driving on the motorway on a rainy day, a work lorry pulled in front of me and a spray of something went all over my windscreen, I managed to wipe it clear enough with lots of wiper spraying to be good enough to see and carry on. Upon inspection later I found the whole front section of the car was absolutely covered with speckles of tar. we were away for 2 days and tried a manual car wash which didn't shift any of it. despairing the worst I was fearing it would not come off but found and ordered this for when I got home. I used it sparingly as it wasn't a very big bottle (and as I wasn't sure if it would do anything to the paint work also) with a soft cloth and was amazed. With a little elbow grease it started coming off pretty easily, it took me a while on a nice day (again I did use it very sparingly) but it certainly did the job, very clean, shiny car now and in the end I only used about a third of the bottle (and my car was really covered) and the paint work is fine - Excellent stuff!

Brilliant stuff at removing tree sap, tar and cream
I bought a used Audi back in February 2021 which came from an Audi dealer. For some reason they didn’t remove tree sap that was in spots across the car. Another thing they didn’t remove was some oil/cream (suspect sun cream) on the door seals. No cleaning products removed any of these marks so I purchased the Autoglym Tar Remover and it’s completely removed all marks. As some people say, it does take a bit of elbow grease in places but it’s extremely effective and doesn’t affect the paintwork at all. I have daytona pearlescent paint and it’s spotless now. What sums up the effectiveness of this product for me was a spot on my bonnet that had a large tree sap mark that I just couldn’t get out even with this product. I kept rubbing and adding more product and I just couldn’t get this stubborn spot off. I left it and it rained the evening of that day. I came back the next morning and the spot was miraculously gone so it must have cleaned off via a mix of the product and rain. Very pleased and would definitely recommend this product.

Not as easy as wipe on wipe off
After reading all the reviews I thought I would tackle the tar residues on my car. It works, don't get me wrong but some of the stubborn or bigger bits of tar required more than one application and a lot of elbow grease

Easy to use, very effective
My still fairly new car had a lot of road tar on the near side front and rear doors (must have driven on newly laid tar, as it was quite a bit on 'splashes' as though I'd drive through liquid). Was sceptical that this would work and terrified it would damage the paint. It was actually amazing. Very, very easy to get the tar off. It effectively dissolves it into a treacle like consistency, and it wipes off easily. Not a lot of effort required.Product is oily and didnt damage the paint at all.I held off using for a few weeks after I bought it as I was scared it would be a disaster. Now, I'd recommend to anyone.

Amazing stuff
This stuff really does take the tar off your car with the help off a tar and bug remover sponge . which is highley reconmended to do this job i had about 3 years worth of tar on the under side of my car gong down the sides at the bottom which i could not get rid of with soap and water . so i tryed this as it gets good reviews . Well what can i say does the job effortlessly . just sqirt all over the tar remover sponge with bit of elbow grease then wipe away using a clean clothe to wipe after so no marks are left there for more stuborn patches just dab with a bit of tar remover leave for 2 mins then try again it worked for me anyway. It just gives it time to soak in to the tar .any way i would definitely recommend this product

It's OK but only really works on fresh tar spots
It actually amazed me just how many tar spots there were on my new car this summer so I purchased this to try and help get rid of them. I really like Autoglym products but I really had mixes results with this, if I'm honest. If the tar is fresh and still soft then this really seems to help dissolve it so it can be wiped away. If the tar has been there a while and been allowed to solidify or has been coated with silicone or wax etc. then this really doesn't help at all. This behaviour is to be expected as this product is comprised of petroleum based products and when used directly on tar it works wonders to dissolve it but if it can't get through to the tar due to some external coating etc. it simply doesn't work.I guess the golden rule for me is to try and keep on top of the tar in the first place and then this product will work really well. Now it's winter time I don't think I need to worry about it so much but come spring/summer I'll be right on it!I think your mileage will vary with this product just be aware it may not remove all your tar spots without some some serious elbow grease!

Brilliant stuff for Tree Sap
Wasn't sure this was going to work, but glad I gave it a go. I had parked under a tree in the heat and my cover got covered in sap. Trouble was I left it for a couple of days and the weather cooled. Getting the sap of with hot water wasn't working so I did a little google search and this stuff came up. At only a fiver for a bottle I thought "why not".This stuff is great. It literally gets rid of any tar like stickiness with just a few wipes. And as a bonus it smells awesome.

Great, easy to use. Highly recommend.
I was a bit nervous about this since there are a few bad reviews. My white car was covered in a fine spray of tar thanks to a tar spreader truck. Lights, bonnet, and windscreen completely covered in dots of tar. I used this product with a cloth and it came off beautifully. A little bit of elbow grease is required but it seriously comes off really well and much easier than I thought it would be. A little goes a long way too, I was worried I wouldn’t have enough product but there is loads left and my car is tar free! Happy days!
