Super sharp shredders
These are super sharp, lightweight and well balanced, they will slice through most things with ease - fruits, vegetables and fingers. I mean most things but there are things these knives are not recommended for use with, read the instructions in the box to know what not to chop. I've seen reviews where other buyers have complained that these knives are brittle. They probably are thinner than most knives on the market, let's just say they are not thick stainless steel. These blades are not made to be thrown into the sink or dishwasher, or once dry thrown in a cutlery drawer amongst other utensils. They will end up chipped or broken. Then you'll end up leaving a review saying they are brittle and useless. If you want to look after your knives then buy a set of hard knife protectors to slip them in. The knives stay sharp longer than stainless steel and don't cause foods, such as apples, to go brown when chopped. Don't ask me why though. I seen it on the internet and then tried it for myself, et voilà, a chopped apple that didn't go brown. On a serious note - these are top quality blades and if looked after properly they will last for many years.

Lethal. In a good way.
Lethal. I accidentally sliced my finger *to the bone* - I could actually see bone - simply by lightly catching the knife on my skin whilst washing it. These things are so sharp it takes almost nothing to cut yourself so you have to be very careful. That's how sharp they are. They also retain the edge for an eternity. £15 to send your knifes when they eventually do go blunt to Kyocera's authorised UK sharpening service when they do eventually go dull - mine are nowhere near that point yet and I've had them for about 14 months now and they have no problem cutting me wide open so it's easy to argue that is well worth the money. Caveats apply with ceramic knives, you have to be careful what you use them for because you can chip and break them because they are ultimately brittle but they're a lot tougher than I expected. Worth buying the quality tools in my opinion.

Razor sharp, but pricey
These are by far the sharpest ceramic kitchen knives I have ever bought - so sharp I have to be very careful handling them! The instructions are that you should use them only for clean, downward cutting onto a chopping board and I still need my carbon steel knives for other work, but these are excellent for this particular function. But they are expensive!

Extraordinarily sharp, but fragile
These are dangerously sharp, but being ceramic, they're fragile. I bought this set seven years ago. The cutting performance is exceptional, as good as pretty much any steel knife. But sadly, after a few months use, the santoku was in the sink when someone washed a pan on top of it, and the tip chipped off. A few weeks later I dropped it off my chopping board and onto the stone floor, and another bit chipped off, half was up the cutting edge. Shortly after, I dropped it into the sink and the blade broke in two. I still had half a knife so I carried on using it, but eventually I bought a very high quality steel santoku and threw this away. The smaller paring knife is still going strong. We use it all the time. The cutting edge does have some microscopic chips, and obviously these can't be sharpened out. And the handle has some scuffing (this looks worse in a flash photo - I've actually never really noticed these marks, they're quite hard to see unless you give the knife a full examination). But it's lightweight and therefore less likely to break if (when!) you drop it, and it remains a brilliant knife.

Excellent knives
I’ve owned a knife the same brand of these for years. And it really is excellent. They’re ceramic so will chip if you’re not careful (my thanks to a careless ex) but even the older one is still better than any of my metal knives.

Poor quality. Poor Service
Product snapped, large chip after only 6 weeks. Product was bought from Amazon but they direct you to Kyocera rather than taking responsibility. However, the link to the Kyocera is for their printing support services. The telephone number is for the printing company which is only for ordering toner.

Seriously sharp!
Ok, I have to admit to being a little disappointed that the photo accompanying these knives is very misleading. I was expecting them to arrive in the display case as pictured rather than the blister pack that they arrived in......That said, these are without a doubt the sharpest knives that I have ever used. They make light work of even the toughest cuts of meat. They are perfectly balanced and an absolute pleasure to use. Just be sure to count your fingers after use!!
