This Oscar-Winning (Best Costume) comedy won the hearts of movie goers partly for its lavish costumes and devotion to Abba, but mostly for the great performances of three drag artists who are on the road trip of a lifetime!

Fun
This film follows a group of drag queens as they tour around the Australian outback in an old bus named ' Pricilla'. They encounter hostility at every town which results in the bus being vandalised but despite this and arguments they carry on regardless and counter peoples intolerance with some great comebacks. My favourite scene is when the bus is travelling across the desert with one of the group wearing a trailing silver outfit stands on the roof and the costume trails hypnotically against the evening sun. Another scene I liked was the one in the bar where Terrance Stamps character has a hilarious comeback when a woman challenges him and his group.

Beautiful!
I purchased this to upgrade from my old dvd. This is perfection on blu ray, the colours of the costumes and make up, the stunning Australian outback scenery, the sound on soundbar is fabulous. This movie is a must have on blu ray.

Offbeat and Colourful Australian Road Movie
I bought this DVD a while ago, and when I first watched the film, I couldn't get into it at all and gave up probably just a minute too soon. Thankfully I didn't throw it out, but left it sitting on the shelf where I've rediscovered it the other day and decided to give it another go. And I'm glad I did. This time I really enjoyed the whole thing right from the beginning. What a delightfully different road movie this is. The premise of three drag queens (ok, two drag queens, and a transgender lady) setting out in a bus - one that ends up being painted lavender if you please - on a journey across the Australian outback is wonderfully outlandish, and the costumes are so gloriously over the top that you can't help loving it all.On their trip, the three "ladies" meet various characters, and the different reactions of these people are well imagined. The The script is very clever and the performances of the three leading men as leading ladies are quite wonderful. Fair play to them for going along with it. I found the film hugely entertaining. The laughs were frequent and there is a pleasant feelgood factor to the ending.

One of my go to feel good movies of all time!
This is one of my top 10 feel-good films, can watch it over and over and over again. It’s a road-trip film with a heart – 2 drag queens and a transgender woman head off to a resort in Alice Springs to do a show. On the way their wonderful bus (Priscilla) breaks down and shenanigans abound. Quirky, colourful and fun with some wicked dialogue but some really really feel-good-grab-you-by-the-heart-and-pull-on-those-strings moments. Love all the characters. Can’t recommend enough – if you want a less quirky version try "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" (again, one of my favourite feel-good films).
