HIGH QUALITY REPLACEMENT CABLE FITS RUSSELL HOBBS AND BREVILLE MAKES
I had 2 irons to repair the first one is a Russell Hobbs steam eze 2200w this has terminal blocks inside so its a simple case of undoing the tiny philips screws and removing the old cable and reffiting with the new cable. The terminal blocks are marked on the plastic so you know what coloured cable goes where.Very easy repair. The second iron is a Breville 2000w model:IIN196 to change the cable undo the 2 scews on the back plastic cover these are T10 star bit screws. Once opened the original cable is wired in by a crimp on method i undid this and replaced this with terminal blocks and wired the new cable into this as i think this is a much safer way of wiring because if you dont crimp hard enough the wires can pull out easily especially as they are very thin wires on this make of iron..A bit more work envolved to repair this make than the Russell Hobbs but well worth it as i now have 2 fully restored irons. The replacement cables are of very good quality with a good quality sturdy plug and fuse already fitted so thats saving some work on the fitting. A very good product and would certainly buy more of this product if i need another one in the future.

replacement lead for an iron
When the lead on an iron frays dangerously, one can either buy a new iron, or replace the lead.I chose the latter and the lead is a top quality product and was simplicity in itself to replace the original lead on my wife's iron.If you're DIY competent , then a replacement lead is much cheaper than a new iron, as such I highly recommend this lead.

Good quality flex and plug
I fitted this flex to a Philips steam iron this morning - a relatively easy job. I found that the original flex had connectors that weren't included with this replacement flex. Rather than buy new ones, my solution was to cut the connectors and a few centimetres of wire from the original cable and then use some connector blocks to connect these to the wires in the replacement flex. This little complication aside, the new flex is now installed and the iron working.Only minor gripe - the flex wasn't the same colour as in the photo on Amazon. The photo showed a white and grey flex but the flex supplied was all white.

Easy to fit and value for money.
Great with fitted plug. Nice to have the extra 0.5 metres of cable. Fitted in 5 minutes, it was so easy. Great value for money.

was easy to fit to my iron
Needed to replace existing iron cord, due to wear and tear, was easy to fit to my iron , and on the plus side , the new cord is longer than the original cord, which has to away the frustration of having to keep moving the ironing board, well worth the money .

Replacement Iron flex.
Replacement flex for the steam iron. Slightly smaller in diameter than the outgoing, split cable, but came with sealed plug attached. Fitted to the iron and no one's been electrocuted, yet, so all okay!

Great Item But Make Sure You Know What You're Doing
Nice quality item. Great replacement for one which had started to fray. Please note *replacing the lead of a steam iron is potentially deadly* make sure you connect the cores to the correct terminals, and be sure to test the earth connectivity. Irons have exposed metal parts and contain water, and can be death traps if they're not connected correctly. If in doubt, throw it out and buy a new one.
