Well...it's a Shaker!
There's not a lot to say about this really. It's a shaker. If you want to be extremely picky, it's not a particularly easy shaker to hold given it's boxy shape but then again, that's the whole point. Based on the full size cajon percussion instrument, this mini shaker is quite versatile. Having three different sized sides (top/bottom, front/back, and the sides) you can get different sounds from the shaker depending on the angle you hold and shake it. For a higher pitched sound, shake it so the bits inside hit the bottom. For a "deeper" sound, use the sides or front. For a shorter sound hold it with your finger tips, and for a shorter, muted, sound, hold it with the palm of your hand.I'm not much of a shaker/percussion player, but I do record songs in my band and have been collecting various different percussive instruments for a while now, so this will see plenty of use over the years.
