These are great. I don’t know about 50lbs but the will almost snatch your gun out of your hand. I use one to hold a loaded Glock 19 in my truck and it works as well or better than I expected.

Love this magnet, it's my second purchase, Use it to mount my gun securely and discretely out of site. I definitely would not recommend it in a home situation where kids will be around.

Do not put your hand between this magnet and metal. After receiving this magnet mount I brought it close to the safety box. My goodness!!! It flew onto it.This magnet holds 50lbs. I have been reading other reviews. 30lb reviewers complain about the magnet not being strong enough to hold a weapon and its magazine. Others say that being round, the weapon circles with movement (like while driving).My husband was happily surprised to see the sturdiness of the SofHold magnet. It is the only one I’ve seen that comes in leather, which means one has not to put up with rubber smell.Hubby wants to get more Sofholds.
