Powerful, reliable and quiet
Great performance, and the fans are whisper-quiet despite this being supplied by Asus as an 'overclocked' version of the reference design. Runs extremely cool, have yet to see it go above 65 Celsius which is amazing when playing games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at maximum quality, yielding over 100fps at all time.

Enormous cooler makes for great performance and OC
The 7900 XTX itself is more powerful than Nvidia's 4080, has more VRAM, and costs significantly less. The one caveat being that the ray tracing performance is worse on the XTX, but the ray tracing performance on the 4080 is still not good enough to enable it without also running at a lower resolution and upscaling. This version of the XTX specifically stands out due to its enormous cooling system: the card itself takes effectively 4 "slots" and is so big it won't fit in smaller cases, the entire size being due to the giant heatsink and three large fans. As is normal for non-reference XTX boards, it has three slots for power cables instead of two, allowing it to draw more power and sustain better performance. As a nice extra touch I've not seen elsewhere, the power cable slots light up with red LEDs if they're not connected when the rest of the power is on.The enormous cooling system, in practice, means it is far quieter under load, and sustains high performance better than competitor cards. I was able to easily overclock this model without necessarily needing to undervolt it, the cooler simply takes care of the excess heat: overclocked and running at 100% utilisation it holds a steady 60 degrees on the GPU main sensor and 84 on the junction, while remaining very quiet. This overclock allows it to compete with the far more expensive Nvidia 4090 in some titles, namely Cyberpunk 2077.In terms of presentation, the TUF series has always aimed at a vaguely military theme, with the result being that the card looks like something the marines use in Halo. Once it's in the case, this isn't so apparent, with the side on view being fairly plain except for the enormous RADEON branding and what ASUS describes as a "splash" of RGB at one end - this is a TUF symbol and a line beneath it that, by default, cycle the now-ubiquitous "rainbow" effect but can be considerably customised by the full-featured but slightly clunky ASUS Armoury Crate software. Finally, the retail packaging is well presented, and comes with a couple of nice extras: a graphics card support of the type that extends to a height and locks in, rather than the support bracket type which I can never get to work properly, a TUF branded cable tie and some thick cardboard that can be folded into a phone stand. Amusingly, the GPU support has a screwdriver hidden inside it for doing PC maintenence. This is a great card, while it's hard to say it's good "value" at the enormous prices high end cards command these days, combined with the lowered prices, current cashback deal and compared with the competition from Nvidia, it's a good buy if you're looking in this market segment.
