amazing cold pressed steel shovel with bladed edges , perfectly weighted for throwing practice , can dig a hole amazingly quick with it ,light weight for what it is and comes with a nice sheaf , would 100% recommend and im also going to buy the larger long handled one for bigger projects

Excellent. Solid piece of kit. Used in the garden many times. keep in my van for emergencies in the countryside and for winter. Better than any fold up spade. And in the event of zombie invasion you may be able to cut a head off or two. But I will probably lend it to my son when he goes skiing in Poland instead

The shovel is certainly fit for purpose. I can vouch the razored edge is certainly as described. I purchased this for my husband for Christmas and being the budding woodsman that he is while chopping wood in the garden chopped into his finger almost chopping his finger off.. resulting in surgery..In the end the damage consisted of a piece of the bone being sliced off, the bone being cracked, cutting through the tendon and cartilage 😳If you want a shovel that may also dismember you this is the one for you!

Product is first class as this is the official military grade cold steel shovel. But I am extremely satisfied with the customer service. My first delivery was misdelivered to wrong address. For "middle class" man like me its perfect. I'm mot ex Navy Seals, Spetznaz survival, sniper etc. or other soldier. Tried to throw it to tree and it sticks like an axe. Recommended for anyone who like to travel, do sightseeing to feel that extra comfort of protection in case some emergency bear attack or other ... And it is only shovel so does not look dangerous but if you sharpen edges you can use it as nife to cut tomatoes, as frying pan for eggs, for more just type in youtube cold steel shovel and there is lots of videos. AWESOME!This cheeky little number from Cold Steel is top draw - well built i.e. made to last and as a added bonus can fend of those pesky zombies when the apocalypse happens. Best short handled spade I've ever bought.

This thing can do a lot! Probably more than yourself. This shovel will never fail you.

Benutze den Späten beim Sondeln.Sticht gut in die Erde.Stößt man auf Steine macht es dem Späten nur wenig aus.Er ist leicht,klein,robust und ziemlich scharf.Eignet sich auch sehr gut zur Selbstverteidigung.Alles von Cold Steel ist super.

I ordered this for an upcoming camping trip this fall so I haven't tested it fully yet, but I've no doubts on it's ability to cover a few bases for me, such as chopping small/medium branches, digging a hole for the call of nature, clearing small brush and scrub, digging a fire pit, etc. I enclosed pics to give an idea of the overall product's appearance since these seem to be a little lacking.The sheath is very well made so I'm happy about that. I really like the belt loop as I can essentially "wear" the shovel if need be and that's what I plan to do so my hands stay free. Also, in some scenario where you have to unsheathe the shovel in a hurry due to a surprise or some threat, I found the two button clips are right at hands reach and can be unfastened quickly if you loop the sheath with the fasteners facing outward away from you. Otherwise I could attach the shovel to my belt and run if I had to knowing the button fasteners are strong and will not open up and the shovel fall out.The shovel's edge is pretty sharp - not enough to cut your hand if you happen to grab it or feel the edge - but it you swung this at someone or something it will give them a very bad day. No doubt there.The size, weight dimensions seem accurate from the product description. Maybe I'm an easily impressed guy but the wood and metal isn't going to separate. The metal shovel is wrapped around the shaft and where the flanges meet it is welded closed. In addition there are two large screws drilled into the metal and into the wood giving extra strength. There is absolutely no play or looseness.I agree with what other reviewers have said about smoothness of the wood. It's finish is very smooth. For casual use it may not be a big deal but I can see why some would want a surer grip.Overall great buy and I am looking forwards to giving this shovel a true test in the near future!
