These stone lined mutes have always been in demand due to the low cost, fairly fragile if dropped, but with care will give amateurs and pro's a lifetime of effective sound quality.

Classic mute works perfectly and is useful as a practice mute.The price was good

Arrived reasonably quickly, considering it was coming from the states, and I can now say I have a bucket mute for when the music specifies it.Fits both my trumpet and my cornet and has a really nice quiet-tone effect, probably one of the best of its type.Could also be useful in workshops with a small group just to keep the noise level down.But because of the way these mutes clip onto the bell edge at three separate points, I find it more difficult than other mutes to put on and take off quickly in big-band situations where one is actually using it "in anger" at the behest of an arranger. It's probably been a perennial problem with this type of accessory, not just on trumpets and cornets, but also on trombones, where they are also popular, so the message to arrangers has to be to allow players a little extra time if buckets are needed.

A solid budget mute. I had to shave down the corks (tried a nail file then moved on to the big kitchen knife) but the effect is worth the effort. I'm still working out how to get the best out of the low tones.

Humes and Berg normally do great mutes, and the sound of this Bucket is no difference, but it is so unbelievably fragile. I would recommend getting an EZ bucket instead of this as they are quicker to use, sound the same and don't break when you look at it funny.

You know what you're getting with Humes & Berg.I've had this and others by H+B in the past and despite the paint sometimes coming off too easy they fit well. last well and most importantly sound good and that's all that really matters.
