Well worth the money
I’ve been soldering for decades with an 18W Antex iron, which works fine for small components but struggles with thick wires or large areas of copper. I now realise what I’ve been missing all these years. This soldering station makes many jobs much easier thanks to the high power, larger thermal mass and adjustable temperature. It heats up practically instantly, and it’s especially good for desoldering.I don’t envisage doing any SMD work, but the hot air gun seems to be fine for removing small components; it’s also great for heat-shrink tubing and for preheating. The clamping arrangement for the hot air nozzles is a bit nasty. I think there may be a version with push-on nozzles instead, but that’s not what I got.Looking on YouTube I found some confusion over model names. This one is sold as the 995D+ EVO; one YouTube reviewer refers to the 995D+I EVO, which seems to be the same thing. The point is that this is the 110W version, whereas some YouTube reviewers criticise previous 60W models for being under-powered.I’m not sure how long soldering tips are supposed to last, but I agree that the 902 tips are expensive and hard to get. So I bought a 4.6 mm drill and some 900M tips, which are widely available. However, the drilling wasn’t as straightforward as I’d expected. The tips I bought had a thin stainless steel sleeve inside, which was challenging to remove. The original bits also have a narrow thermocouple pocket at the top, so I used a 2 mm drill to replicate that on the 900M tips – otherwise you end up forcing the thermocouple right down into the heating element, which doesn’t seem a great idea. Other 900M tips may have a different construction that is easier to drill.

Big step up from a cheap soldering iron
The product is well made, easy to operate and works well.Main benefits are being able to accurately set three temperatures for each operation and a quick warm up.The 110W power is very generous and can keep the temperature even when soldering larger objects where there is no dip in the temperature. There is no disadvantage to a high power because the temperature can be precisely set.I haven't used the hot air gun except to confirm that it works OK. It doesn't add to the cost too much and is useful to have. The majority of cost is probably in the controller. Both operations are supported by removable cables (proprietary connectors) and the two parts can be replaced (if required). The tips supplied are long lasting and being able to have the unit revert to a low temperature or be easily switched off helps preserve the tips. I have not tried other makes of tip but the pattern of these is generic so there should be no issue using low cost alternatives with good availability.Using the soldering iron station I have been able to perfectly solder a variety of joints and all have produced perfectly flowed "text book" joints.

Nice, good value, but lack of availability of tips needs a bit of bodging
Nicely put together, feels like quality components. Works really well, just two issues: 1) The temperature display turns off when you turn off the heat, would be useful to see when it's cooled down. 2) The bigger issue is lack of replacement tips. Unfortunately they're a non standard size (at least I couldn't find any that matched it). It comes with a selection of larger tips, but nothing suitable for fine work.HOWEVER, there is an easy solution - the ubiquitous 900m style tips are almost the right size, just slightly smaller ID. Just run a 4.6 or 4.7mm drill bit down the middle to open them up a bit and then they fit this iron perfectly. Try to find the chunkiest barrel 900m tips that you can - 6.5mm OD are readily available on Amazon.

Does what it says on the tin.
Received today, had a quick test. Works really well. Great soldering iron and the heat gun worked great for heat shrink.

A great re-work station.
This re-work station is just what I needed, it was a good price and the delivery was excellent. Fingers crossed and it will help the problem I'm facing at present; re-floating a chip!

Makes soldering easy!!!
Wow OK.So I've had several 60w soldering irons and always struggled with xt60 connectors etc. This thing makes them easy as it has the power to keep temperature.Hot air gun auto starts and stops with the dock.No complaints
