Finally a decent 19" rack shelf
Finally!! A nice 19" rack that holds up under its own weight and then some. I cant contest to the weight rating on this shelf but I can say that with decent amount of weight, it's very sturdy. No issues with install and all holes lined up right. Be careful with some data racks - seems there aren't always standards followed so that might explain why some people say it doesn't line up or fit. Legit telecom/data racks that are 19" and totally standard will fit and work just fine. If your rack is an 'off' one - then YMMV with this shelf.

This thing is built like a tank. It's expensive, and worth every penny.
There's not much to say in a review about a rack-mounted shelf. I mean, it either works or it doesn't. This thing is built like a tank, using much thicker metal than I expected. Considering that I use a rack cabinet that I built myself, this is possibly the single strongest piece of equipment in the whole thing. The manufacturing appears to be of the highest caliber. The entire shelf is completely straight, smooth, and devoid of any burrs or jagged edges. Nothing was rattling inside the box because everything is wrapped in plastic to protect the finish. The shelf includes four very sturdy-looking M6 screws, accompanied by matching cage nuts and plastic washers. Also included were six 10-32 screws, which is what I use.Rack hardware always tends to be expensive, and this is no exception. Be assured that you are getting a piece of equipment that is worth the cost. I've made some DIY shelves for my server rack, and they pale in comparison. You can see what I mean in the photos that I've included with the review. The shelf is completely painted glossy black, as is all the included hardware. Everything perfectly matches my rack rails. The shelf screw holes line up perfectly with the rails. The surface of the shelf has lots of slots, allowing for great ventilation. It looks quite stylish and is functional as well.I can't really find anything wrong with this shelf. As long as the 55-pound weight limit is acceptable, this is the rack shelf for you. I guess I would have liked to have had more than just the four screw holes. I have a bit of OCD, and knowing that eight screw holes are going to waste behind the shelf just nags at me.

Top Quality Shelf but didn’t work for me.
This is a very good quality Rack Shelf unfortunately because of the “overhanging lip” on the front edge it did not work for my application of using it in my Synthesizer Rack setup. The lip took up space that otherwise I could use and it blocked my small gear from sliding in and out. It was not clear to me from the description or image so I had to return it.

Screws included are M5x0.8--Not 10-32.
The mounting hardware includes 6 M5x0.8 and 4 sets of captive nuts with screws. Not exactly what I expected for mounting onto a standardized rack. The M5x0.8 thread pitch is very close to the 10-32. Especially on a rack's thinner metal where it is threaded. It could be used but if you were to happen to switch back to standard 10-32, you could strip the threads tightening it. Or maybe not. Maybe it would take more than once or twice. But if we're talking about the standardized threaded holes, just stick with 10-32 and no worries. If that screw doesn't seem to be going in, try a screw that you know works. Maybe the threads need a bit of cleaning. That's better than using a screw with a different pitch. The shelf is nice. Bent lips to provide reinforcement. The venting cuts in the surface are clean. I imagine I could even mount this with the lips pointing up so that it acts more like a retaining shelf but... I don't know what would be sliding on it in the first place. The mounting surface (side flanged metal tabs) only have 2 holes per side. I expected to see 3 on each side but not an issue. The shelf will be used. I didn't expect any issues at all but the wrong screws really surprised me.

Easy install, strong steel, strong shelf
I installed this rack in a shallow networking gear rack. The installation hardware is all good and installing the rack went quicker than disposing of the box.The product photos are slightly wrong because the shelf came with more hardware than shown (nice!). I used the cage nuts and bolts that are shown. There were also a set of bolts for mounting to rails with the threaded holes - I forget what those are. M6? Regardless, they're now with the other spare rack hardware. I've used better quality cage nuts, but these worked fine.At 10 inches, this rack really isn't deep at all and buyers should confirm that it's the depth they want. It's pefect for networking stuff though because that gear tends to be pretty shallow. The shelf itself is a nice solid piece of steel and came with no flaws in the paint. I'm not testing its load bearing capacity (yet) - it's just holding spare cables and bits for now.
