So far so good for a cheaper tire
Quiet ride. Replaced the old winter tires on my car. Very quiet and rides well. As long as it holds up, I'm happy. Good for a cheaper brand.

Very quiet om the road.
Good all-season economy tire that is surprisingly quiet on the road. Will definitely purchase again at this price.

They're round, they hold air, they're made of rubber...
These replaced four 7 year old, worn, and slightly dry rotted Goodyear Eagle RSA tires on a 2004 VW Passat GLX.Had them shipped to, and installed, by my local Mavis Tire shop. Install went well other than the tech telling me he only needed two small weights on one wheel, only to find out, while doing a full brake job, that there were actually 4 weights on each wheel. Why lie about that?Saw him using a torque wrench on the lugs and was impressed by that little detail.I torque everything, and appreciate when others do the same. However, a few of the lugs were definitely over-torqued. So much so that my electric impact bogged down on a couple of them. No big deal, I was going to check the torque anyway. It was raining the day of install so was able to test their wet traction straight away. They did pretty good in the rain.Tested emergency braking, and they didn't slide. ABS probably added to that result.Tried to gas it from a stop and didn't get wheel spin. Also no hydro planing to speak of.Overall was fairly impressed with wet traction for the price.Did feel they were noticably harsher over rough roads. The B5-B5.5 Passats are known to be a bit crashy over sudden rough patches of road, but these tires definitely added to that crashiness/harshness.Checked air pressure and the shop had them over inflated by about 5-7 psi all around.Adjusted the pressure and they felt slightly more compliant after that.Pushing them in corners, did not get much tire squeal, so that was good.Fast forward 3 weeks and finally got a chance to take them out for their 1st long distance, highway speed, trip, and here is where the story changes a bit.The 7 year old worn and dry rotted Goodyear Eagles were still smooth as butter at highway speeds. No real road noise to speak of.These Blackhawks are noticably louder, have moderate levels of vibration, and tend to "wander" a bit at highway speeds.Found myself having to do much more inputting from the steering wheel to keep the car centered in the lane than ever before.Old tires I barely had to do that. They just tracked straight as an arrow. After hearing all the reviews about these being smooth and quiet, I felt a little let down by the ride quality at highway speeds, and even with slower local driving.Never felt unsafe, or that tires were out of balance. Just didn't have the smooth and quiet ride I had been expecting.I was on a stretch of the Garden State Parkway South(South of Toms River) that I know very well. It's smooth and meticulously maintained.Old tires made practically zero noise. All I ever heard was some wind noise by the poorly designed windshield trim on B5 Passats. Now I'm feeling vibration in my butt, steering wheel, and gas pedal. Not heavy amounts, but enough to be annoying in an otherwise smooth riding car built for highway mile crushing. They're ok tires for the price, but doubt I'll be able to handle the vibration and road noise for very long.To be clear, the suspension components in this car are 100% dialed in, so it's not a suspension or alignment issue I'm feeling. It's pure tire noise. Not the worst I've ever experienced, but far from the best.If you're low on funds, or in a pinch, these will do.If you desire a smooth and quiet tire, maybe not so much. At least not on a B5-B5.5 Passat.Personally, I feel I should have just waited another couple weeks and sprung for a better tire. The cheapo Solar 4XS(made by Sumitomo) on the Subaru Impreza are so much smoother and quieter than these Blackhawks. For sure, the first and last Chinesium tire purchase for this guy tho.3 stars is all I can muster.I mean, they're round, they hold air, and they're made of rubber...I guess.
