We owned a dryguy boot dryer last year. It died in the middle of our trip after not very many uses. The inside chip board fried. I almost didn't buy anything new but found this on a skiers website with excellent review. I decided to purchase it and the original Peet's dryer. This one is great. I may buy a second. The timer function is priceless. It dries quickly and because of the timer doesn't over dry. The Peet's took many, many hours to dry anything. We were swapping things out on this one several times over in the time the Peet's took to dry one thing. I love how the ends extend and rotate to best point in the direction of the item you're drying (we dried boots, socks, and mittens). I never needed the USB so I can't comment on that. As far as drying our stuff and working consistently without dying (my main criteria), it's a win. It's also small enough I would take it on an airplane. I have no complaints.

Packs easily and folds up small, built in timer, and adjustable dryer arm length make this a great little dryer, especially for ski boots.

Bought two of the version of this with the UV "anti-bacterial" feature in late 2023. The heating function failed on the first one within five minutes and the second within 45 minutes. After that they just blow room temperature air which is useless! When first plugged in and turned on they heated for a little while and if they had kept the claimed 20C rise over room temperature would have been fine, but the heat soon stopped. No amount of unplugging and power cycling or mode changing would make the heat come back on.The UV feature seems like a worthless gimmick as it only exposes the air blowing through the unit to UV (inside the air tubes). If it's even enough to purify the incoming air that will do nothing for the inside of your boots or shoes as the place where there would be bacteria is not exposed to the UV.I had purchased one of these without the UV feature in late 2022 and that one is still working fine. Seems like the addition of UV has wrecked the heater component somehow.
