Versatile Convenient Power When You Need It
Over years, I have accumulated a collection of battery packs, primarily purchased to power Afidus long term time lapse cameras. However, the overall usefulness of the GripGear Spark prompts this review. The Spark offers a fast phone recovery charge. In ten minutes you can go from panic to connected productivity. The video test I included, shows a completely dead Samsung Galaxy S22 phone. After only 15 minutes the phone battery is near 25%, within 30 minutes the charge is over 50%. Once the phone battery was full, I drained it again and the Spark brought the charge up to 50%. 1.5 full charges sounds great, however, as you watch your phone power reach a concerning level, a quick jump start with the Spark will keep you talking, navigating and provides piece-of-mind you have not lost contact with family and friends.Quick thoughts… The Spark is about the size and weight of a phone, in the comparison, I have the Spark on a Galaxy S22 on a $10 note. A phone and the Spark are easily gripped in one hand. The width allows holding the Spark in a standard tripod or blogging support phone clip accessory. I have tested cold weather time lapse camera operation at 0°F/-18°C, the Spark kept the camera running for 72 hours non-stop, with ample power to continue beyond my application.Occasionally I would like a weatherproof battery pack. A simple solution is Spark in a bag. A one quart zipper bag works well with the USB cable passing through the small closed zipper end. I use a fastening strap, tape or zip tie to hold the sacked Spark with the cable opening down. The Afidus camera shown has a waterproof USB port and this simple set-up is ready for everything, including a heavy rainstorm. The output is variable depending on the device you are charging. In my test video, you see a low initial voltage, when the Galaxy requests more power, Spark delivers from the USB-A, USB-C or Micro-USB ports. I try to keep a Spark charged and ready, especially while traveling and at events. Even if a power source is convenient, I would choose a charged Spark over a vehicle or wall charger. In this category of power packs you have choices, options and you could spend hours comparing. Overthinking is unnecessary. With the Spark you are assured a quality, durable product that does a very good job delivering what matters most… versatile convenient power when you need it.

Doesn’t work for Milwaukee heated jackets
I was so ready for this charger to work. It’s light and thin, a great price, and would be great for my Milwaukee jacket. It worked great for the first while, but now my jacket won’t stay on for more than a few seconds at a time and I know the battery is fully charged.

Will Return
Not sure this is truly 10000mAh12V because it doesn't fully charge an iphone 14 pro max. Not as powerful as I thought.

It Works!
It works, holds it charge, and fits just right in the red light therapy pad pocket. So far, so good.Update: I had to take away stars because the cable that came with us was of poor quality and has fallen apart.

Works better with the iPhone than the iPad
I have several power banks that I use regularly when I am not near a wall plug. The GripGear power bank feels solid in my hand. It's about the same size as the average iPhone. It comes with a USB cable. The device has the typical 4 little LEDs to show charge level. After charging the GripGear charger fully, I left it connected to my 11" iPad Pro overnight using the USB-A port on the charger to the USB-C port on the iPad. When I went to bed the iPad was at 52% charge. In the morning it was only at 63% and the charger had dropped only one LED, with three still lit. Puzzled, I changed cables and used a USB-C to USB-C cable. It started charging more quickly, but was still slow and the power bank became warm. It took an hour to boost the iPad to 80%. As an experiment, I used the same cable on a similar power bank from another company and the charge rate shot up dramatically. When I tried other cables on the GripGear I was able to get improved results. For some reason, it seems that the GripGear is finicky about cables connected to the iPad Pro and it never charged the iPad Pro as fast as other chargers. While all the chargers delivered the same voltage, it seemed that the GripGear was delivering lower wattage, as tested with a FNB58 USB tester. The iPhone was a different story. The GripGear charged the iPhone quickly and seemed to negotiate a higher watt delivery. If your primary purpose for using a battery bank is to charge your iPhone then this seems to be a solid choice.

Charges quickly and holds a latent charge for quite a while
Having a battery bank available when you need is generally a good thing. Charging phones, airpods, tablets is all useful.I like using battery banks for another use. I have some internal wireless cameras which power on USB. I plug the camera into the charger bank and plug in the charger. I know it's not the best thing for the battery bank using it this way; probably takes half the life away. But it is my way of making sure what I have plugged in doesn't stop functioning just because the power goes out. The wifi is on its own UPS system, so there is connectivity for quite a while. You can adapt my usage for your need. Perhaps putting kids down for a nap and you want to set a camera. This is a way to immediately power a USB wireless camera without having to have a power outlet.

Good amount of charge, fairly compact
Really liked this charger, I have taken it out a lot in the past few weeks for date nights/family days out, etc. in order to make sure my phone doesn't die before the end of the day. It works very well, doesn't have an on switch - you just plug it in and you're ready to go. There is enough of a charge in it to fairly quickly and fully charge my phone (Pixel 7 Pro) in one sitting. I like the indicator lights that let you know how much is left in the bank.My only gripe is that it takes a LONG time to charge. It's fine if I have time to plan ahead or pack an extra if I think I'll need to recharge my phone more than once, but I think that is fairly common for larger capacity charging banks.
